I've never worn false lashes b/c I don't want to damage my natural lashes since they are already fairly nice. I love the look though. I love Pamela Anderson's makeup, & I believe she wears false lashes all the time. Should I consider lash extensions? Or is it not any different (as far as eyelash damage) than just wearing falsies? Thanks in advance!

This site claims that "3D-lashes" don't damage lashes.

That being said, I have experience with these and I didn't like the way they felt BUT they looked nice. When they start to shed, is when it feels odd and sometimes your real eyelashes will thin out.

Forgot to mention getting them put on is kind of weird and it burns your eyes and makes them water. Not real burning but like a cooling sensation. I think it's the glue.

and once you have them on, you can't have water (when taking a shower or washing your face) run directly on your eyes because eventually it loosens the glue. It's tricky doing it at first but you'll get used to it.

I second that

Someone on here has pics of them in their blog, they look nice, before and after. I think it's aplsmash, not sure if I spelled it right.

I had these and the experience was not good. During the session my eyes were burning and tearing up quite badly. Also, for some reason, my top and bottom lashes ended up stuck together, and had to be prised apart at the end - that really hurt!

The lashes themselves were glued together in clumps, and pointed in all directions (though that might be because of my lashes, lol. But then again, it should have been up to the beautician to avoid the lashes that point in different directions).

Because of that experience I probably would not have this done unless I'd seen that particular beauticians handiwork. Having said that, the examples of lash extensions Ive seen done properly look really really nice.

Moral of the story: Make sure your beautician is competent at this treatment! Good luck

I have them. It really depends on where you get them from. From what I've seen, it's a bad idea to go to a cheaper place because the glue they usually use is not as good -- it stings and does not stay on for very long.

My extensions last about 4-6 weeks , and I can't feel them at all, they do not sting or hurt. They don't damage your natural lashes unless you are pulling them out. They are glued to your natural lashes and will fall out when your natural lashes fall out.

However, I don't find falsies to be damaging either, unless you are tugging at your lashes.

Here's a thread I started with some pictures:https://forum.makeuptalk.com/f29...ons-56235.html

And here's a blog post with other pics:

^ Thanks so much!!! I have sensitive eyes, & for some reason I lose lashes easily when I wear mascara or just rub my eyes. I love the look of big lashes though, so I am really interested in extensions/falsies.

ive nerver hand eyelash extentions, but i used falsh lashes on big night outs and the work beautifully and they look great, the individual ones give u more thickness as well as length. But definitely go for it. they look awesome.

someone started a thread around september with before and after pics and her extensions looked amazing. i'll see if i can track it down! although i don't need them myself, i think they look fantastic when done properly.

I am missing some upper lashes on my left eye. I used to get sties really bad when I was younger and I think it has damaged my lashes in that one spot, they never have grown back. I have considered false lashes just because of this reason but I was watching a demo on the internet the other day about applying false lashes and they say you need to apply them on top of your own lashes.. if I don't have any there that is going to be impossiable for me to do... so the search goes on to my problem. Has anyone tried the topical creams to help grow your lashes?

I have a lady that I work with that gets them.

They look really good on her, but it seems like the has to get them replaced quite often. But, I am not sure what brand she does.
