This is something i've been doing since last winter. This is my ultimate weapon for extra, extra dry hands.

In my country, the weather was particularly rough last winter, and i work in a restaurant which means i have to wash my hands a good number of times. The soap is antibacterial, but it kills all bacteria, including the good bacteria on the surface of your skin, which works as a protective layer. The complete idiotic will of reaching the zero bacteria confounds me

.

As a result, not only do i get eczema from the product itself, but it's also aggravated by the dry skin. I get organized at work so that i don't wash them too often, and i try to use gloves when available (and i do wash them...), i even use my hand sanitizer but of course there are times you just have to wash your hands.

So despite all my precautions i found myself with dry, cracked skin, tiny cuts bleeding

, i would bandage my hands at night and cover them with bandaids at work.

The handcreams do help of course, but they're either not enough hydrating or not enough rich in oils. I came to realise the cracks were really deep. So i grabbed my face serum, applied some and then applied my regular handcream. I saw the results very quickly and just under a few applications my hands were looking much better. This is something i really suggest you try. When everything else fails, face serum helps !

Any kind is good as long as it's hydrating. I use one with royal jelly, the brand is Famille Mary (they sell honey and by products from the bees, including a skicnare line).

Thanks Aude for the tip. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I plan on trying this method. We have cold winters, my  hands get dry. I like my Glysomed hand cream but adding a serum sounds great.

One time a esthetician used a Moroccan hair oil on my hands, cuticles, then added cream on top. It made a difference.

I forgot about it until you posted this thread lol. Now I have try it.

Lol, threads get buried then discovered again, it's the beauty of a forum :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

This came from realising most handcreams, when you have extremely dry hands and consequently a great need of moisture, focus on moisture by fat (as in oils, butters, waxes). Indeed they are important, but a dry skin is also a skin lacking in water, so i find a hydrating serum is very useful when all you have on hand is a waxy/buttery handcream.

Maybe I should used this?  But my hands are rough now because of the gym.  Wear gloves or not, I just dont have nice soft pretty lady hands....drats...
