I wasn't sure if this should go in "Health and Fitness" or "Skin Care" so feel free Mods to move it!!

Anyway, and I hope this isn't too much info, but yesterday, my son did #2 and it leaked out of his diaper and all over his crib. I know, gross!! (Being a mom is great! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ). Anyway, I spent half the day cleaning up that mess which meant washing my hands probably 20 times. I also washed clothes and washed a lot of dishes. Add the cold dry weather to that, and today I noticed a burning red rash on the tops of my hands, concentrated in the knuckle area. The rash is all over both hands, but most of it is around my knuckles. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what I should do to help this. Should I just keep lotion on it and try to avoid contact with irritating soaps for the next few days? (And that will be really difficult being a SAHM!) Should I be concerned? I can't see a doctor unless it's critical because I don't have health insurance, so I was wondering if I could get some advice here. Any suggestions are appreciated!! Thank you ladies!! :icon_smil

You should keep disposable gloves around the house, you can get bags of them at home depot. Use a thick hand cream a few times per day and it should clear up, wear gloves as often as possible. Try some Chap Stick on the really bad spots.

Well I have an update. I kept my hands moisturized all evening with some Mary Kay hand lotion I had, and this morning when I woke up, most of the redness was gone!! Yay!! There's still some pink pigment, but I'm just going to be careful with my hands today and keep them moisturized. Thanks for all your responses!!

oh I've been in that situation so many times!!! Not the rash but the poo all over the place situation! I'm a SAHM too. I know how you feel, good times!:icon_chee

I was goig to recomend you to use "penaten", when that happens to me I use it and the rednes it's gone in seconds, but glad you are better now.

Well at least someone knows what I go through!! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> He's teething really bad right now so it's causing the, uhh, leaks. :icon_eek: I've had to clean up waaaay too many recently!!

hehe...I thought about that too when I wrote it, so you're not a goober!! :icon_love I was thinking, "MAC pigment". lol

Oh I definately know what you are going through! Believe me! My situation right now is that my 2 year old son is REFUSING to leave his diapers on at nap time and bed time. So I am cleaning up a lot of #1s!!!! I actually walked in on him naked, sticking his little "member" through the bars of his crib and squirting the floor!!!!!! So, yes, I am with you on this SAHM stuff!!!:icon_chee
