Everytime I wax my facial hair, I damage the skin. I use a waxing kit made for the face but I don't know what I"m doing wrong, everytime I'm done there's a extremely red mark from where I waxed and the next day it turns into something that looks like dry skin but is still really red. I think I"m holding my skin taut, am I pulling too hard? Anyways, I need help with that and also how to cover it with make up, I can cover up the redness a bit with makeup but you can still see a general shape of the thing and as i said it looks like dry skin so it is still noticable.

I will try that, but I only have the bottled one, not the actual plant, and I tried that last night and omg it stings. lol

When it is done it is always red on me too. I am really pale so it is very noticable. I use some lotion the next day and I am good to go. Have you looked to see if there is a formula for sensitive skin that may work better for you?

I'll be sure to look for that. The first couple times I did it, it was fine and worked nicely but ever since I always get marks. And they last so I think I probably tore off some skin? Sorry to gross you all out lol.

I have found when waxing the face, you need to quit using any glycolic acids, BPO, topical medications, prepscriptions of renova, bleaching cream, etc., a day or two before you wax and a day or two after the waxing. It really depends on how sensitive your skin is. Please make sure the wax is the correct temperature for your face. Test it on the inside of where your elbow bends to see if it is the correct temperature. After you waxing apply hydorcordt, aloe vera, etc, Put ice inside a cool wet washcloth and ice your face for about for about ten minutes. Also keep reapplying the hydrocordt.

See if that helps you

for about ten minutes. Keep reapplying the hydorcordt.

I agree with Shar. Good tips!

I've had a bad facial waxing disaster myself and I've stayed away from it ever since! Now I thread only.

Good morning to all

Thank you Beautynista for your nice compliment! My daughter hates waxing (she is dark headed) and has tried the thread, along with the 19.95 little machine sold at Walgreens. She commented that that even pulls the hairs she is trying to rid of. When she is in the area, she goes to a nail salon that knows what their doing in waxing the face without damaging her skin. She applied the hydrocordt and ice's her face and finds that works better for her. If you know someone that gets waxing done professionally and doesn't damage the skin, ask them where they go. The key is the icing to calm down the irritation done to the skin
