I have naturally curly, wavy, medium thickness hair. I need a product that can tame the frizz that goes with this mane. It's driving me bonkers! Key points: It hasn't been dyed in two years, it gets trimmed every so often and I rarely heat style. TIA!

Hi there, fellow curly!

Could you tell us more about your routine: what products you use, how often you're washing it, how you're styling it, etc. Also, are you in a dry or humid locale?

I ask about products since a lot of shampoos on the market (from drugstore to fancy) use some really harsh cleansers that strip your hair oils you need.

Some websites that were really useful for me when taming my own were:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/ - Lots of useful information to educate yourself on your hair and its needs. Also, their product pages are great for researching ingredients and benefits.

http://www.tightlycurly.com/welcome - My hair is nowhere near as tightly curly (!) as hers, but step-by-step explanations and suggestions really help me out when figuring out how to adjust a routine for myself. Also, she inspired me to believe that my hair truly could be tamed within curly-reason.

Thank you for your reply! I use Regis Design Line Enchanted Radience shampoo and Conditioner. Argan oil mask twice a week and I wash my hair every other day. I live in a desert climate, it's pretty dry, rarely a humid day. I'll check out those link. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hmm, I haven't really lived in a desert climate. You might want to ask on the NaturallyCurly forums for those familiar with it.

Your shampoo and conditioner are free of those harsher sulfates, so that's probably fine. Is there a particular reason for why you wash your hair every other day? Most curlies can go several days in between washing. While you're using a gentle shampoo, washing it that often might be causing issues, though you do note that you're using a mask. It could be a matter of your hair needs more moisture. Cutting back on how much you shampoo, maybe just focusing on your roots for shampooing and trying out some leave-in conditioner.

Everyone's hair and curls can be so different, so it can be a matter of trial and error to see what works best for you. Some do the no-(sham)poo method, some low-poo, and others a variety. You may discover that you can actually have a crazy amount of product in your hair and it will still look and feel incredibly natural.
