Ok.. I searched and did not find anything on this. Maybe I wasn't searching right, as I couldn't beleive there was nothing on this. So if there is a topic already on this, just let me know and I do apologized.

I have very light brown hair with some reddish tones. My roots are gray, and when I dye my hair the gray is still there, except lighter and it does blend in ok. Thats not what I want. I want the gray all gone. Does anyone know what is the best hair color product out there to get rid of gray hair? I have tried all the Loreal and Clairol products. Thinking I might need to go to a salon and have it done proffesional.

Thank in advance for all your advice. Have a good day.

This is a quote from Garnier - Belle Colour

"If your greys are giving you grief, here are some tips for maximum coverage:

Select a shade that covers grey

Neutral or golden are ideal for grey coverage. Red shades are often too vibrant on grey.

When going blonde, avoid extra light shades. They are great at lightening hair, but not covering grey. Choose a medium to light blonde.

To effectively cover greys, apply dye to areas that require the most coverage."

Although this came from Belle Colour, I'm sure any over the counter product would adhere to the same rules.

You can use Bigen color. It comes in a powder form, and you mix it with water. I am only 23 years old, but I have a strange clump of white hairs on one tiny area of my scalp, and the Bigen colors it just perfectly! The colors can pull a little dark, so go up one shade than normal.

I was cursed with some early grays. I use Naturcolor. It is a herbal hair color that covers almost all my grays (probably 90%) and also won't fry your hair because there's no ammonia or resorcinol. It matched my natural color pretty well. look them up in a search engine or some whole foods store carry it. Its only slightly more costly than most major hair dyes but I think its worth it. Plus you don't have to worry about paying too much getting it done by a professional.

Nox - I have used henna that was powder form, then becomes a paste when mixed with water.

Would Bigen be a henna?
