Hi everyone, I was just wanna share some things I've been interested recently. I just started using mineral makeups and it kinda opened my eyes to natural products which i believe is harmless to your skin, especially face.

I have an acne-prone skin, crazy hormones (i'm the biggest moody cow during PMS), huge pores on my cheeks, and of course, oily skin.

So I've come across this articles about using natural face soap bar which is supposedly better than over the counter cleanser, i have nothing against those branded products, but since natural soaps are way much cheaper i thought, hey, why not?

I believe some people must have posted about this but I wanted to know and ask for some recommendation of which kind of soap I should use.

Right now I'm using Pure Luxe Calamine Soothing Bar and loooooooooooooooooooooooooooving it, my skin feels so moist and clean after it.

So if you have experiences or recommendation for me, please help me out

and this is a good site if you guys wanna check out, it's basically a Handmade products online stores which sell natural soap bars...they have various seller (or maker) and their prices are very cheap (around $4.50 per soap). this is one of my favorites:

Etsy :: WendyLousNaturalBath :: Tea Tree and Lavender Goats Milk Soap - Healing - Acne

lol, well i'm kinda like you, combo&sensitive acne prone skin, with a chin turning into a pizza every month during "that" time.

my face soap is actually an Alep soap (olive&laurel oils). it lasts me a few months, it's big and only costs 3€. i find it in a healthfood store, i guess it would be the same for the US. i love it, it reduced my acne to the monthly breakouts here and there, and i kill them with some essential oils.

my mother and i also love scented soaps for our hands, we used to buy them from a local store when we were living in Brittany.

Bar soap contains wax or something similar to hold the soap in a solid form.

Wax can clog pores and therefore lead to breakouts.

I'll stick to my non natural liquid soap cleanser

Unless it's a glycerin soap I always feel like there is a film on my face when I use regular soap. But...DHC makes an Olive Soap I've heard raves about so....never say never!

i hate that too Kathy. my alep soap leaves a sort of film on my skin too, but it's a protective layer, so you really get used to it.

I have actually tried a few brands of organic and natural soap bars, and they really haven't done a lot for me. But, I still want to try and find other brands out there, maybe I can find one that actually works.
