I don't know if I'm allowed to post this but I'm getting a haircut today and I do not know what kind of cut I should get. I've been trying to figure out what my face shape is..I still don't know. :icon_roll lol. I kind of have a long forehead aka fivehead lol. (it looks longer when you look at me from the side or any other angle). I'm hoping to get away with no bangs (like tyra banks!) because bangs tend to make my face break-out and they're just a pain to deal with. I usually get long tapering layers around the face. Last time I got my haircut I got side swept bangs but I think it made my face look weird. Here are some pictures of me. I'd like to keep my hair long but I'm really open to any ideas. Thanks a bunch. :icon_wink

Here's my avatar enlarged.

Also, I'd like to color my hair too but I've tried so many colors and have been disappointed with them. My hair is kind of dull from all the the dying and highlighting. I just want to increase shine and make

I've got a fivehead too! I try to stay away from bangs, I think they really show how long the forehead is on me. I never go shorter than chin length because my face tends to be a little round.

Meena Suvari (spelling?) has a high forehead too, surf around the net and see if she has any styles you like.

I have a big forehead too... and I just have angles around my face, and long layers in the back. I usually wear it with an "unofficial" side or middle part. (Which means I usually just flip it around, and wherever it lands it lands lol) but you might want some layers to break up an oval face ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So I have an oval face?? yay. Thanks for telling me. lol.

So I should try some layers in the back too? I have thin hair, is that okay? I know that some people say you should get layers if you have thin hair but how many exactly.

Thanks so much for your help!

Anytime! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Your face looks pretty oval in your avatar photo, and people with an oval shaped face can pretty much get away with any style. The number of layers is pretty much up to you. You can keep them long, if you like the look of (mostly) flat, more straighter styles. If you like a lot of body and are comfortable with a wavier look - you can get them shorter. Its totally up to you, what look you want, and how much time you can devote to styling. If you get a lot of shorter layers, and don't have the time to section them and blow them out... you can end up with a choppier shag look. Which is nice, but if you want the amplified body... it won't happen unless you blow dry it all or have natural wave to your hair.

Well, I still don't know what I want to do. I think I'm gonna go for longer layers since I like the sleeker look and then if I want, i can still curl it. I know I said that I was gonna get it cut last week but you know...things got really busy. lol. I'm gonna go next week and then I will post some pictures.

Awesome! I love long layers. They give you a 'style'... but still keep your length and a ton of options open if you want to change it up a bit for a day. You aren't "locked" in to one style. I like options,.... options are good ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have a wide forehead too but I prefer bangs ( covers my irregular hairline too) you can see on my avatar pic that my bangs are long but side swept , I can always brush them back if I want the no bangs look and when I curl my hair I just make sure to curl the bangs loosely so I dont lose much length , I'm trying to grow my hair out too and with the layers all I need to do is get my bangs trimmed when they get too long ( around 8 to 12 weeks)

HTH and dont forget to post pics of your haircut! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I was a 'banger' too ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I get moments of boredom when I decide to cut myself bangs, and I like the way they cover up my huge forhead... but then I get tired of doing them, and watching them curl up in the rain... so I let them grow out again. A never ending bang cycle lol (Although I havent had them in about 1.5 years)

I think your hair looks great in your avatar pic! I wish I could get my hair to shine like that. I totally get what you mean about the curling/frizzing in the rain , I use garnier's oil repair anti frizz leave in conditioner which is made just for the purpose of combating humidity , it still frizzes a little bit but I usually tuck them behind my ears when im outdoors while its raining ( they still cover most of my forehead and keeping them taut helps them not springing up) , it's a bit of a pain to have to do all that but I'd still rather have the security of hiding behind my hair lol

lol Me too - that's why I like mine long! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> lol And thanks for the compliment... I just use StraightSexyHair Power Straight balm or Herbal Essences smoothing cream, and ceramic brushes w/ a ceramic/ionic dryer ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'll have to try that then , I just use a regular hairdryer with natural/synthetic bristle mix . I wanted to try an ionic dryer but I never found anything strong enough that I like . Thanks for the tip :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and sorry for hijacking the thread lol

no problem... at least you're still talking about hair ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> lol I have a CHI Rocket dryer... and before that I was using Vidal Sassoon's Ionizer. Which I loved. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So why did you stop using it? I mean in what way is the Rocket dryer better? Also have you heard of GLISS? it's a schwartzcopf line , just asking cuz I wanna hear your opinion on it

I've used that line before, but only the styling products... never tried their dryers, so I don't really know too much about them. :icon_conf I heard a lot of good things about the rocket... yes I do like it a lot, it's a bit faster than the VS, but it's also very expensive. If you are just going to be doing your own hair, and don't want to pay almost $200+ for a hair dryer... go with the VS. I think honestly I got pretty much the same results, only the CHI dries it a bit faster. But if your hair isn't very long or doesn't take forever to dry... you really don't have to go overkill -- Can you post some info on the Gliss? Might be able to help you out a bit better if I knew a little more about it :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I was asking cuz I wanted to send you something from their line I use their heat protector with liquid silk but I bought 2 bottles last time and I'm not even halfway done with the first one! PM me if you're interested so I can mail it to you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
