Well, I'm having this huge problem with my freckles. Yes, I know most people say freckles are cute, but i think the opposite way

I'm a chinese girlie and to avoid getting more freckles and making the original darker and better, i use Banana Boat Faces Plus Sun Block in SPF 23. I use it everytime i go out to the park or shopping in the city. It dont seem to work much  Then i asked my friend, cause she have no freckles at all and shes out in the sun more then i am ! She told me that Sunblock/Sunscreen give you freckles even though it blocks you from the sun! Is that supppose to be true? And what is the difference between sunblock and sunscreen. Is there any other products that will help my freckles getting darker or bigger and even better ; GO AWAY? Thanks in advance!

Awwww - I have freckles and I love them! I am sorry to hear that yours are troubling you. I use sunscreen between SPF 15 adn 30, but I still do get more freckles in summer.

I was watching "10 Years Younger" and they did something to a lady and reduced the apperance of her freckles, cause she had alot!!

Good luck

Add yes - keep on the SPF!

Not sure about any home treatments..but you can go to a dermatologist and get them lightened...but, the price is on up there..personally, I am like the others..I really think they are cute...

i agree with kae. i think there might be temporary things, unless you pay big money, but i think you should just embrace them! i think they're so cute.

hmmm, i don't have freckles, but i was thinkin' about celebs with serious freckles and lindsay lohan came to mind. i remember when she first came out in "parent trap" and i just remember saying, "damn, that girl has a lot of freckles." anyway, i recently came across a pic of her and her face body were virtually freckleless. now, the pic could have been photoshopped or something, but i def see a difference in the amount of freckles she had when she first came out and now. maybe you can look into what she did to reduce the appearance of her freckles... though i'm sure whatever she did was pretty expensive.

Nicole Kidman also had loads of freckles when she first started acting...she has virtually none now...some kind of lightening process? I have freckles (too much time in the Australian sun!) but I love them.I think some brands like Ole henriksen & Barrielle, do skin whitening/renewing creams which aim to reduce sun spots/freckles, but I've never tried them.

lol i have freckles too and i have dark skin too... oh well i just kinda live with them..

I have fair skin and a pretty good amount of freckles! I hated them when I was younger, but now I've gotten used to them. A few years ago, I used the discoloration lightner by Avon and it worked really well. I had a couple of cute freckles that I wanted to keep so I would put the cream every where but on those ones and the rest of them faded quite a bit. Even now the ones I didn't put it on are darker than the others. It's really cheap too. Now, I just use my fndt to cover as much as I can. Oh yeah, I guy I was dating once told me, "A face without freckles is like a sky without stars! Aaawww!! Cheesy, but cute!!

I use our re9 suncreen spf 8 day cream and I use my minerial makeup to cover. I have seen less freckles this year and been in the sun more.

well, your friend is wrong about the sunscreen, it will help! the sun's uv rays can darken freckles and give you more, so wear your spf! a skin lightener, like people use for hyperpigmentation, will help fade and lighten them. but you will have to keep using it and wearing sunscreen so they don't return.

I'm sorry to say hun, but some people just naturally have freckles:/  I don't like mine either, so I feel your pain.  And especially because my hair is almost black, and I have very fair skin, it makes me look gothic.  Just so you know, there is no difference between sunblock and sunscreen.  These will not prevent any more freckles from popping up, but you would want to get sunburn anyway.  I've read several places that if you get a peeling sunburn before the age of 18, your risks of developing skin cancer increases dramatically.  There isn't anything you can do to cover them up either.  Well, I take that back.  You could either get them lasered off (ouch!) or get a medical concealer.  Other than that, there isn't much you can do.  You could try a full coverage concealer and foundation.  Just learn to love the perfect imperfections that God gave you.  It's what makes you you!

Hope this helped;)

I can tell you right now the lemon trick does not get rid of freckles. Freckles are a concentrated amount melanin which happens to make your skin's coloring. Applying lemon juice, which has a mild acid base (approximately 5% citric acid), isn't strong enough to lighten up the melanin but it can cause skin blotching over time.

http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=4340

Melanin: A skin pigment (substance that gives the skin its color). Dark-skinned people have more melanin than light- skinned people. Melanin also acts as a sunscreen and protects the skin from ultraviolet light.

Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes. It provides some protection again skin damage from the sun, and the melanocytes increase their production of melanin in response to sun exposure. Freckles, which occur in people of all races, are small, concentrated areas of increased melanin production.

If you look at some of the results, you may think otherwise.  If your freckles aren't super dark, the bleaching properties of the lemon could lighten them.  The same way that it bleaches your hair.
