I apologize in advance if this as already been answered. I'm looking for a really great primer/foundation that will stay put. I work in a kitchen, anywhere from 12-16 hours (with no breaks for touch ups either) and while I've tried a few options, after a few hours it literally melts off. It's just so humid and hot. And I'd like to avoid going into the restroom and realizing my makeup has vanished and my skin is four different shades. I typically have dry skin, no acne, and I don't touch my face at all at work (can't it's a health code violation, and rightfully so) My daily makeup is pretty basic. Moisturizer, primer, sheer foundation and a stick foundation (currently BECCA but I prefer Mac select SPF 15. I'm only using the BECCA because it was about 40 bucks each and I'd rather finish it) to even out my skin tone, loose powder and a little blush and mascara. simple. I was wondering for those of you in humid climates, what's the best option. I know I work with boys but I still prefer to look like a girl, you know? Thank you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I find powder mineral foundations hold up best in humidity.  It'll actually stay put even in the pool, if you want to talk about WET.  I generally apply moisturizer, primer then mmu.

Really? I haven't tried mineral foundation in about 10 years, I always assumed it didn't give great coverage, I'll have to try it again. Thanks! Any specific brand?

There are tons out there... Different types of coverage. I like the fact that they are buildable coverage. I still like everyday mineral despite the contravercy with their pricing and website. I do make my own formulation from scratch now. I'm sure you'll find one you like.

Absolutely agree with divadoll. Also MAC would be a good starting point to refamiliarize yourself with mm.

. . . I think it's time for me to switch foundations if mineral foundations can survive a pool!

You may want to check out this good ones in my opinion : Joppa minerals, LA minerals, lucy minerals, Silk Naturals minerals (you create your own shade), lumiere minerals.

I have been thrown in a few times or jumped in with makeup on. The right mmu will survive a swim.

Try KORRES Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment after your normal skin care, then move right into a primer. Maybe a water-based one, like again KORRES brand. Then move into a mineral powder foundation and sweep with translucent powder afterwards. Urban Decay has amazing 'fix' sprays that have gotten my makeup through nights of dancing/sweating/working hard. If you try all these together, you should notice a massive difference in the wear.

I have dry skin so I'm not a huge fan of using mineral makeup but I've found that applying a "finishing powder" like the one from Laura Mercier or Smashbox really helps keep my makeup in place no matter how hot it gets.
