Hello everyone :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I've been using avc (apple cider vinegar) on my skin..and it really seems to prevent cystic acne from forming. I usually get those bumps underneath the skin that hurt but don't surface..and I have not had any of those in awhile. Still, there is a problem. My forehead appears to be very shiny and bumpy (I'm pretty sure it's not any form of acne). The avc is supposed to lessen oil production..right? So, I'm confused as to why my skin is looking so shiny and oily..and disgusting..yet..no cystic acne. I've been contemplating buying the Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid Hydrating Gel 10%. Also, I'm been wondering..maybe my skin just needs moisture? I have not been moisturizing after apply the avc.

I have never used AVC, but is it drying? Your skin is pretty smart...when it is dry, oil is released to moisturise it but drying it out oily skin a fair deal will just cause it to overproduce oil, leading to much oilier skin

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I'll go back to moisturizing with my aloe vera. I stopped doing that for some reason. Thanks.

Oh yeah, it is drying..at first..and all of a sudden..I'm oily and shiny and bumps are prominant.

Forehead bumps could be from your shampoo too, so maybe try wash your face after you wash your hair.

Hi,

Hair care products can definitely cause bumps on your forehead. At-home, make sure you rinse your hair throughly. As Leony suggested, wash your face and rinse it throughly too.

Yeah..I just washed my hair today and was sure to wash my face/forehead really well after that. Still, that's my usual routine..so I'm pretty sure it's not the shampoo. I moisturized with some aloe vera today..and I see a reduction already in the bumpy skin.

just use some acne medication.

clean and clear has some cool ones...mild...works great.

this is very true! it seems that your skin is trying to rush oil to the surface. maybe diluting the acv could help somewhat. sounds like it might be drying you out a bit too much. let us know if the aloe moisturizer continues to improve your skin.

i used to get those forehead bumps, then my doctor prescribed me this stuff that has clindamycin in it. (not the right spelling) it basically kills the bacteria on your skin that causes the bumps. I've been using the stuff since i was 16 (now 25) and i have not gotten any of those bumps since. theres this new stuff i'm using that has clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide together called clindoxyl, and it works great! be careful tho, cause the BP bleaches clothes.
