What's the best hair removing lotion? I just bought the veet 3 minute one i've only used it once it made my skin really soft but it didn't actually work in 3 minutes, the bottle was kinda small and it was more expensive than others so it's not my favourite right now.

(I don't mind a higher price tag for an impressive product)

Any recomendations?

veet for sensitive skin. i love it. and doesnt remove like 5 layers of your skin (unlike nair).

You could try Veet Rasera, that's meant to be good but I actually use the wax strips which are good but kind of tedious!

Veet is much more skin friendly. Nair on the other hand burns and irritates long after hair removal.. IMO

The absolute best is Magic Cream!!! It is sold in most ethnic hair care sections--it is actually a beard remover for black men. It comes in a green and white tube and is only about $3. It doesn't irritate at all, not like Nair which I swear gave me chemical burns all over once. Best of all, you can use it everywhere. Yes, EVERYWHERE. Without going into too much detail

you can even use it "down there" and "back there." It's a Brazillian in a tube! Give it a try, and I swear you'll be hooked!

Sally Hansen has good ones and they are for sensitive skin. I think Veet and Nair are just too strong for my skin, Sally Hansen's products are just about right.

Wanted you to know I bought the Sally Hansen depilatory (lavender something or other in purple tube) lotion & not only did it NOT remove my hair, it left the house smelling like a backed-up toilet.

I would echo the recommendations above of Veet depilatory lotion (in a tube) for sensitive skin or Veet Rasera. They take 10 minutes or less to work, and they actually work. I use the Veet cream gel for the bikini & underarm area (now that it's summer - during the winter I wax).

I'm must admit, you have tweaked my curiosity. So where would one be most likely to see this? Sally? Walmart?

Here is a link of a store that sells it, and also a pic of the tube:

my granddad used this stuff when i was a girl. it didn't come in a tube then, it was a powder that you mixed with water and removed with a butter knife! so cool that this stuff is still around. i remember his face was always as smooth as a baby's bottom. never any ingrowns of dark spots. i might have to go old school and try this myself! thanks for the link!

Yep--that's pretty much how you use the cream too. Smear it on kind of thickly (pretend you're putting peanut butter on bread) wait about 6 minutes, then scrape off with a spatula-like object; I just use the end of the tube. Then take a washcloth and wipe away any cream or hair that's left. Piece of cake!

I also like Veet for Sensitive Skin. I was also allergic to Nair, it made very sore red bumps for 24 hours

However, I haven't even been using the Veet anymore... I used it regularly for two months, but I didn't notice my hair getting any lighter or thinner, and it left the same amount of stubble as shaving so I still had to use it every day. So I just shave now since it's easier! I think the only advantage to the lotions is that you don't get razor burn

The fact is that mostly the hair remover won't do anything to your follicle, because it's only a chemical which makes the exposed hair fragile (almost all of them have some abrasive component or sulfur, which makes them with a strange smell) and when you pass the spatula it'll only break the hair near the skin.

I like depilatories because they leave your skin very smooth without any stubble/bumps. I buy the Roll-On Formulas.. you just glide it over the area which takes like a second, then wipe it off. End of story.

I tried veet and nair, i wasnt impressed.

So I shave and wax (i wax my arms) and shave everything else. Sometimes when I get lazy, I will let my leg hair grow out and wax that too. And when I am really determined, I go get my armpits waxed (growing it out is horrible, and I am currently growing out my arm hairs and my armpit hairs and going to get it waxed).

Depending on where you are planning to use the depilatory, it would be better to wax (unless it is a really sensitive area.....in that case, take 2 asprins one hour before waxing).
