Have you ever used one? If not, why not?

Tell us about your good experiences. What type worked best and why? How do you best apply it? Is there a secret to a great fake tan we need to know about?

Tell us about your bad experiences. What happened? What put you off doing it again? Was it orange hands or streaks or...?

Do you think a tan is a great beauty investment? How does it make you feel?

Yes I have.

I have had some friends get spray tans and look gorgeous.

I have personally only had bad experiences. I have tried a few tanning gels on my arms as testers... orange and streaky and occasionally my skin rashed out. They did a tester of spray tan on my leg and it rashed me out too. I guess my skin is too sensitive.

I have actually learned to embrace my pale skin. I get more compliments pale than I do when tan. I guess I was just meant to be white.

I do not now, nor do I ever plan to, use any type of tanning products. If there were a way to make myself glow in the dark from paleness, I'd go that route. I LOVE being pale and think that a tan looks odd with my hair color. It just doesn't suit me in the slightest.

Bear in mind, I like high contrast--I think some women with much lighter hair look fine with tans, but since my hair is so dark, I prefer the pale look.
