Anyone else dealing with this on their face?? I have started to get Intense pulsed light treatments (just had the second) with Levulan applied one hour to face before the treatment. My pores look so much better, but the size of the sebaceous "bumps" have not gone down that much, just a little bit. Mainly on my cheeks. I guess I will try one or two more then call it quits. I am a bit discouraged and wondered if any other gals are dealing with this. This isn't a critical skin care condition, but it is cosmetically unappealing. And happens to some as we get older...sigh sigh sigh.

Any skin product recommendations to lessen the occurence?? I am using Obagi gel cleanser in morning and a Jan Marini glycolic skin cleanser in the evening and trying to get a facial from a great aesthetician once a month or so.

All replies would be appreciated. And thanks!

Thanx carolaz , for starting this thread.

I also have same problem on my nose.. with some hyperpigmentation there, since my early teenage... tried all the dermatologists ...which helps only temporarily

can someone else too post there experience with this..

i think i have one on my nose. I scrubbed it with a loofa(skin sin I know) and it is helping. Though it may just be a swollen oil gland.

I am new to this site, and I also would like any helpful ideas/tips in dealing with my Sebaceous Hyperplasia. Are there makeup products that work well for concealing, without being too heavy, and what about skin care??!! I also have Rosacea, so, it's a double whammy!!

Thanks, Kathy

Recently, I have been noticing some minor bumps on my face. I started to notice two bumps on my left temple, on my left cheek, under my left side of my chin and a couple on my forehead. I wanted to know what was going on with my face since I started to feel a bit self-conscious about these bumps. So I had the courage to call my derm. office and my Dr. had said that I have "sebaceous hyperplasia". When she told me I probably had sebaceous hyperplasia, she then followed that there was no treatment for it unless you wanted to "burn it off" but at the end it will still leave a mark from the burn. I feel like there is nothing to keep treat these small bumps and foundation nor concealer can do the trick to hide these. Has anyone found anything to keep this bumps away from ruining our self-esteem?
