Perusing the Elle UK website, I came across a beauty review citing face oils:

"We heart face oils here in the ELLE office! If you're stuck in a beauty rut and want to update your regime, or your current moisturiser just doesn't cut it, then why not give oils a go? They are perfect for oily/combination skin (yes really!), our top 10 face oils won't clog up your pores which means fewer pesky spots and blemishes leaving you with a glowing complexion. So make it your New Year resolution to slick on the oils for a more radiant 2008."

Has anyone given these things a go? I'm faiiiirly cynical about the claims, but I'm desperate to rid myself of the dry patches that winter causes on my t-zone!

same as Carolyn, do you know what oils they were referring to ?

there are oils for combo skins, i personally use coconut, but you can use others.

I was hoping that the exact oils would be listed.

I've heard that polyunsaturated oils really benefit the hair and skin.

Examples might be coconut, olive and advocado.

I have pure coconut oil. My hands feel quite nice when rub some in the back of my hands. Plus the smell is terrific.

Mut has a few threads on coconut oil - some are in the hair section.

For combo skin, grapeseed is good. But, Olive oil works for everyone I think. I don't know about the list from that article. It's all brand name oil blends and I just kind of create my own. But...I have also heard that Shu Uemura's is good, along with DHC's. hth

I tried jojoba oil and coconut oil. I don't recommend them for combo skin at all! They are comedogenic and broke me out!

well, i must say about coconut oil i have one which is organic and costs its fairly bit of money, i keep it for homemade skincare products and my face, i use a tiny amount and so far, so good. and the smell...i love it.

but the coconut oil i got for a few euros at the indian store, i actually keep it for the rest of my body.

olive oil is a staple i guess, it's pretty basic in a kitchen, so you could go with that.

on my cheeks, where my skin is the most sensitive and dry, i use sweet almond, borrachio, even macadamia (with its delicious hazelnut smell).
