Has anyone heard or tried putting (vaseline) petroleum jelly on their eyelashes? i put olive oil on my lashes in the morning and evening... but i read somewhere that it makes your eyelashes FAST.

makes your eyelashes fast?!

lol. i use vaseline on my eyelashes, all oils are good for conditioning eyelashes. i do it before bed.

I wouldn't use vaseline because it is petrolatum which is made with oil. I'd stick to olive oil or another oil like jojoba, grapeseed, sweet almond.

what does "fast" mean? does it mean grows quickly? I've never heard of that but hey if it works, I'll try it out

yeah, quickly. i tried it out and my lashes got a little longer in about 2 days!

I'd say oils are good for conditioning... I've been using L'oreals Lash growth serum for a while now every night and it definately made them grow longer..

I agree with xjackie83. I believe we've come aong way since Vaseline! lol...I wouldn't knock it if tht's all you have, but an oil would be better suited. I never thought I need my eyelashes to be soft anyways, but hey! you learn new tricks everyday

You can also use castor oil on your lashes, but not too much or you will wake up with golf ball eyelids.

If you only need to moisturize eyelashes, then use vaseline with almond oil mix. If you are trying to grow eyelashes, use Fysiko lash serum once a day.

There's nothing out these that can make them grow back magically. But you can try some eyeLash enhancing product and it looks like a clear mascara.you will find fuller-looking eyelashes and eyebrows in just weeks.

I have used Maxeylash serum http://www.maxeylash.com/ when I was living in Spain, unfortunately it's not available in United States. It made my eyelashes a lot longer and thicker. I imagine Lilash, Rapid Lash, Latisse etc are similar to Maxeylash.

I've never tried petroleum jelly, I might try it out though :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I started using castor oil on my lashes quite some time ago with great results & no golf-ball effects. It's a lot safer around the eye area than Vaseline! I then started making my own lash serum that's castor oil based with several other ingredients but it's the consistency of a gel, not an oil, due to the other things in my formula. I buy mascara tubes from a local wholesale supplier, fill them and use that to brush it on from root to tip. I also brush this serum through my eyebrows. Works great, so no reason for me to waste $50+ on other products on the market. Castor oil is spectacular for the hair on your head as well. It's a great overnight scalp & hair deep conditioning treatment.
