This is just my third post, and it's on the same topic as the others -- eyebrows!

I thought I'd start my own thread to narrow down the field.

My question is -- what parts of your eyebrows do you pluck, and which parts are off limits?

I've always heard that it's safe to pluck underneath the outer three quarters of the brow, but generally it's not good to pluck underneath the inner first quarter (otherwise you get that *surprised* look).

I've also heard that one should NEVER pluck above the brow, but my brows grow up on the inner top half and sometimes need plucking there.

Any thoughts?

Thx.

Hi there Browneyedbeauty! I am a fellow Brown eyed beauty and I want to say welcome to MuT if I haven't already done so! My name is Leila from Tampa Fl...

In the future, you could post stuff like this in the Makeup Talk section since eyebrows kind of fall under that section...you would probably get more replies to your thread that way as that section has more people checking on it.

As for your questions... I ONLY pluck from the underneath part of my brows to give them some shape. I won't pluck above them so that there is a natural taper on top, but then there are some exceptions of course. If there are hairs way too far up, out of line with your brows, etc, I will pluck those... I also don't really pluck under the first quarter of my brows, but honestly I had never really thought about it before. I suppose that if you do, it can lend that "surprised look" you were talking about...

Recently one of the members here on MuT sent me some closeup pics of her face and eyebrows so I could Photoshop the shape that would look good on her onto them. This way she could see where she might need to pluck etc. Eyerbrows are all personal preference, what I like you might not like, and vise versa...

I attached a before and after pic of my brows... A few mos. ago I grew them out to get a proper base for a good brow shape. The second pic was from a few days ago and is an "after" pic of my brows once I reached the shape I wanted...

Awesome!

Thank you so much MACGoddess. You have *gorgeous* eyes.

You're right -- I suppose there are no hard and fast rules about eyebrows as long as the plucking doesn't interfere too much with the natural arch.

And thanks for the tip about which forum to start the thread in; I actually was a bit confused about that!
