I went to the salon yesterday and got my hair done. While I was there I decided to get my top lip and eyebrows waxed. I had never done this before. My eyebrows were thin anyways, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I like them. It seems to make my eyes look better and just the whole face. My questions are this: How do you know when their too thin? How often do you go get them done? If this isn't the correct forum for this please move it to the correct one. Thanks in advance.

it really depends how fast your eyebrows grow, but as a general rule, they suggest that you get them done about every 3 weeks.

As for too thin, if you start to look surprised? they're TOO THIN

lol.

I remember I was also amazed at how much more open and expressive my face looked after I got a good eyebrow wax! it does so much for your face I think

I only have to pay $7.00 so I guess if I go every 4 weeks that's not bad! I had never done it before. The eyebrows didn't hurt that bad, but the lip did. I don't have much hair on my lip you can't even see it unless you look really close in a mirror so I guess that will not be done as often. I was afraid with my brows already being thinner than most peoples that she wouldn't be able to do it. She seemed to know what she was doing, I guess because she does it daily. I sure was red for a while after.

The lady beside me was saying that she had hers done once and would never do it again.

I never got them waxed because I can pretty much shape them myself with just tweezers and not worry about a bad wax job.

I say go to a Benefit Cosmetic counter because they're pretty much pros when it comes to eyebrow stuff. Whether it be just asking them questions or getting a wax job.

we don't have a benefit here. I wish we did. I live 2 and a half hours from the nearest big city that has a MAC or any of that. I hate it too so i'm limited to clinique, lancome, estee lauder, and elizabeth arden. I've never done my eyebrows before because they are so thin, but I wanted some shape.

my eyebrows are the same as kimora lee simmons, do you all think that is too thin or is that about right? Thanks for all the help.

i get them done every once in a while, but i keep them up myself. I had a pretty bad experience getting them waxed a few years ago (she did them completely different from eachother like three days before i got my senior pictures taken, and then it took me a year to grow them out and back to normal) so needless to say sometimes i get nervous putting them in someone else's hands.

When i do get up the guts to do it, i usually love how they come out, they make your face look so much more put together and pretty!

I've been thinking about getting mine professionally done, my mom said it hurt though, haha. I'm pretty sure youll notice if your eyebrows are "too thin" haha.

If your eyebrows are too thin, you'll know about it, cause you'll look silly. It sounds like she did a good job.

Try getting them dyed if you think they are too thin - it gives even more definition. Remember - bushy brows are back now!

As a stylist I wax clients brows daily. We are always aware of the potential of a "bad wax job" and strive to make both sides look the same. I often have my clients review my work as I go to make sure that they are satisfied and understand what is to be removed next. But then, there is always the potential for wax in the wrong place and your brows not growing back as you want them. Typically clients that need their brows waxed return every 4-6 weeks. Many of my clients have either poor eyesight or simply don't want to do their own brows.

I have my own wax pot at home and I usually do mine every few months just to freshen them up, I pluck in between waxings. I do Justine's brows aprox 1 x month, she does not pluck. I use a depilatory on my lip b/c it seems to me that when I wax there it grows back thicker.

as for thinness..... what ever your preference, but shaping takes sometime to find the shape you like....for me anyway.....Justine's eyebrows are very round and we've now just finally after 5 years of waxing have figured out the perfect shape for her!! but like Rosie said if you look surprised.....the shape is wrong.

i tweeze, so most of my customer come every two to three weeks. i tweeze my own pretty much everyday.

I get mine done every couple of weeks. I like how they do it, cause they get them to arch just right, and it fits my face, bringing out my eyes and all.

I had someone new wax my eyebrows 2 weeks ago. She only waxed above my eyebrows. She said I have over plucked and wanted me to let the hair grow back so she can reshape. I put my makeup on using a 5x mirror and I am going nuts looking at the hairs growing back slowly. Wanna pluck. . .wanna pluck. . .wanna pluck so bad.
