I have extremely dry skin on my face. The only other time it was this dry was the winter I was pregnant with my daughter. I have not found a good moisterizer yet that I like. I feel I am throwing my money away on all these different that I should just go buy an expensive one that will work. So I guess what I'm asking is for all of you that have the dry flaky face skin, what do you use?

Another problem I have is no matter what foundation I use it looks cakey because of my dry skin. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

first, i'll ask if you exfoliate regularly?

second, i'll tell you that looking in the recipes thread, you'll find a good home recipe for a moisturizer using oils and what-not.

:]

Do you exfoliate? I find that it helps. I also have dry skin and I use Aveeno or Cetaphil.

Exfoliating will help for sure. I exfoliate using brown sugar and milk. Works wonders. As far as my moisturizer, I use Dove Deep Moisture Facial Lotion. It's the best. It's worth it's weight in gold for me. And at night I use emu oil. Also another God send!

you should definitely try vaseline and some natural oils. avocado oil is very thick and emollient and is recommended for very dry, sensitive skin. you can also mix it with olive oil. i dont think expensive creams necessarily work better.

hope this helps.:sheep:

I have really dry skin as well and at the moment I can't seem to do anything about it.

I make my own now skincare stuff now and I've just made a new moisturiser but it's too early to tell if it's any good really.

I used to use Dermalogica's products before I made my own though and they are very good. For exfoliating, their daily microfoliant is very gentle and effective.

Exfoliating will definitely help.

Thanks everyone!! I did put vaseline on last night and my face seems to feel better this morning. I will cont. to do that for awhile before buying anything. Thanks again!!

When you have dry skin you need to moisture masque it in you am and pm routine. Leave the moisture masque on for five to fiftheen minutes then gently cleanse it off with a gentle facial wash. Then apply a lighter application of the moisture masque as your moisturizer. It also helps to have a hummifier hooked up to your furnace to adjust for the weather. Or the simplier way is to purchase a film free hummifier in your bedroom. Your face will love you for it:)

I get very dry skin, and this winter has been no exception! I bought some E45 cream from the supermarket on a whim and its been amazing (careful though... it has lanolin in which some people are allergic too). I also use a rich night cream from the botanics range at boots. Along with regular exfoliating and using a balancing face wash, I seem to have got rid of those flakes that make foundation look terrible!
