I exfoliate my face 3 times a week, i use YSL aprictot scrub, which, used to work really good for me, but now, every time i scrub my face with it, i break out! it upsets me because my face never breaks out, not even when i get my period, if any i just get maybe one pimple and thats it, but, this is more like some kind of face rash i get, my face gets all red and rashy, anyone know why this is happening to me? Same if i use a face moisturizer, i dont know what to do! Help pls :scared:

maybe you're sensitive to an ingredient.

i exfolate everyday because i have oily skin.

i use the asprin mask mixed with honey.

maybe you should try that sense it's more "natural" i guess.

:]

Try only exfoliating once a week and see how your skin reacts to it. Maybe your scrub has expired.

i know for myself some things just stop working for me. maybe that's what's happening to you?

you know that if you exfoliate too much, you get oily? maybe that's why you have oily skin. be careful!

yes, i suggest you exfoliate only once a week, and maybe try another product? some products that worked great for me a few years ago don't do anything for me today.

I guess that is what happened then, the product just stopped working for me, that aspirin with honey sounds good, i will try that, any other suggestions for another brand of face scrub?

you could try baking soda mixed with your regular cleanser.

right now im using this one:

i have sensitive skin and this doesnt irritate it. it was quite cheap too.

hope you find something that works for you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thank you for the suggestions, i will take them into account, i think that is why my face rashes up, because it's too sensitive, ill see if i can find that face scrub! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Nurvinia, I also have a sensitive skin (even very sensitive) and, I can tell you, that I`ve learned one important rule by now when it comes to sen. skins --"try to avoid scrubs"!!!

And why would you want to use a scrub if YSL offers super mild and super effective "natural gommage exfoliator"?! I have been using this one for years and it`s wonderful for my sensitive combo skin. Its texture is honey-like(it doesn`t contain any crystals or granules)-- it should be just warmed out in your hands a bit before applying. Since it doesn`t contain any particles , it could suit any skin type (especially the sensitive one) just varying in the frequency of usage. I must tell you that this stuff worked great even during my pregnancy when I could barely touch most of my sc and cosm products.

I also have a big suspicion that you overdid with that apricot scrub. Maybe those crystals or granules or whatever it consists of are too rough for your skin and make it even more sensitive to the weather changes.

Anyway, I highly recommend you trying YSL`s gommage. Just ask for a sample and give it a try--I have a feeling that this is what your skin needs

Oufff, I think the format of this post more suits some np`s article. :eek:oops:

Sorry about that:eek:oops:

Dont do it!!! ohh mannn leave it alone and why r u doing three times a week? I heard only once a week ..

I really hope your face clears up

I used to exfoliate a lot too but I try to do it once or twice a week with a big gap in between the days... Have you been using a lot of different things on your skin lately? I had a yucky skin reaction a few months back and I blame it on using far too many products on my face...

Good Luck!

Well, i do it cause it used to work :frown: but after i had my two last babies it stopped working, my skin went from oily to dry because of the weather here, and now my skin has changed too and it became sensitive, something that i didnt expect at all :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I guess i have to stop using products that are an agression to my skin :sleepyhead:

I really never used anything but scrubbing creams, and i even stopped using them for like 4 years and i used nothing on my face, but, i thought i would use scrubbing creams since i got some blackheads on my nose and i dont like them, but, this thing is not working the way i wanted it to work anymore, so i guess i will use something natural from now on.

maybe just try cuting back on exfoliateing to once a week for awhile

Yup, its just a rash that goes away after i stop using the scrubing cream, and then when i use it again my skin feels really sensitive, kinda like a burning feeling, and it gets all red.

have u been using any other new products? cos it might not b the exfoliator thats causing u to break out, cos i had a stage when i was allergic to this spray that i used, but as i had no probs in spraying it on my body, i didnt know my face was sensitive to it and thought it was my exfoliator.

but have read in a few sites that if u have spots, u shouldnt really exfoliate, but then htere are lots of mixed opinions on that, and there are quite a few exfoliators designed for acneic skin

Hmm, no i dont have acne, im actually acne free, i just have some black heads on my nose that i dont like, i want to get rid of them, and i stopped using the face scrub, and it seems like my face is clearing up so, i will wait and see, i wanted to try the aspirin and honey mask but i couldnt find my aspirin bottle lol

if u havent got acne then maybe u dont even need the aspirin mask... u said u have some blackheads, im using Dr hauschka cleansing cream and its kinda working on my blackheads, but not on the really deep ones (but have only been using it for a few weeks)
