they both use small particals to scrub off dead skin cells - as far as i know. so than what's the differance. if somebody could help i'd appreciate it.

thanks

Well a microo is more effective when it comes to acne or acne scars and its more harsher den a normal scrub with a normal face scrub the only thing it would do is work on da surface of ur skin not deep in

thanks for the reply. i thought so too. so i guess if i dont have acne scars then i dont need a micro. because i've never had one but i keep hearing great things about it. i dont know maybe i should give it a try.

thank you

Microdermabrasion is for ice prick scars, or scars where there is indentation in the skin. It's really expensive though, however you could try something that "mocks" microdermabrasion like Dr Brandt "microdermabrasion in a jar", which won't get rid of ice prick scars but will lighten discoloration on the face.

thanks anika. i dont have any pricks or dents on my face so i guess i dont really need micro. i'll just stick with whatever scrub i'm using at the moment.

Micro is way more intense than a regular scrub. It helps with scars and sun damage. It's really good for aging skin. If you're relatively young there is really no need for it yet.

I got a few sessions of dermabrasions done and I really loved the way they deep cleaned my skin. But I do caution they also broke me out and left my skin feeling very sensitive almost like when you scrape a knee. In a way that is what is happening-you're getting the top layer of skin scraped off. It's supposed to boost collagen and give your skin a glow. I noticed the difference only the first couple of times but after that I stopped due to no changes and the breakouts. I ended up developing other stuff because of it so I paid the price financially and physically in the long run. I have used Dr Brandts microdermabrasion in a jar and really liked it a whole lot. It's pricey but if you go to their site or call them up you might be able to try some b-4 u buy it.

In my opinion, Microdermabrasion is a very intense way to exfoliate your face. While a regular face exfoliator is much more gentle and less abrasive.
