I was just wondering since most people stop using products because it breaks them out, how do you know when a product is actually doing its job or if it's a skin reaction? Specifically I'm talking aobut pore clearing products. Now if you were breaking out into painful cysts then yes.. that is probably not a normal reaciton. But when people get little bumps, when would you consider that a product is actually degunking my pores, bringing it up to the surface, and when would you consider that no, this product is actually causing bad reactions?

Hhmmm....maybe when it includes excessive redness and irritation. Possibly itching as well. That would indicate an allergic reaction to me as opposed to pore cleansing. Also...if it's just pore cleansing it should start to clear up pretty quickly. hth

What i do in that situation (which happens pretty much everytime i try out a new product) is give it some time. Keep using it for three weeks or so. If the bumps go away and your skin looks better than when you started, then this is a good product to stick with. But if your problem persists or worsens after three weeks, ditch the product.

And no one wants to continue using a product that causes so much discomfort anyways. I did however try a dermatologist prescribed cream for my acne. I was prescribed it twice by 2 dif derms and both times, my skin turned red, burned, flaked. But I think that was the intended effect where it flakes and dries out the top layer so your scars will peel and acne will be less. But it was too painful for me to continue to use both times, wasted a good $60 each time *sigh*

A product shouldn't be judged by one use, the skin needs to adjust to the product a bit and such. I've been trying out my new glycerin and rosewater mix for moisture. and noticed a couple whiteheads appearing after the 2nd day. So that's mainly why I made this post, i don't know if I should stop using it on my face, it does however make my skin really soft in the morning

I've also been stressed lately, but stress usualy means zits for me.. not little whiteheads (I just spelt whiteheads with a 's' instead of a 'w' lol oops) who knows, i'll keep using it.
