I didn't really know where to put this.. (and if one of you wonderful MODS needs to move it thanks in advance!)

But I have what I believe to be eczema (I haven't been to the doctors) on my eyelids. It's not even really my eyelids it's on my brow bone. It is severely dry all the way across and down to the corner of my eye.. basically anywhere you would highlight. It will get worse when I put ANYTHING there.. including eye creams, moisturizer, makeup. I really want it to go away as I have a hard time experimenting with eye looks because it always looks crappy. I can't blend it well, it's chalky looking, and flaky.

Miss Aude suggested calamine lotion. I am going to try that. Is there anything else you ladies can think of?

hydro cortisone cream.  Just a tiny little amount will go a long ways.  I get it in spots on my face...not so much since I've started using the oil cleansing method but I still keep a tube of cream handy.

ugh i get this too. Sometimes just keeping it moisturized works, other times its just needs a little hydrocortizone.  I would go to a dermatologist. Sometimes over the counter stuff doesnt work.

I moved the thread to skincare :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Calamine lotion works, i mix it sometimes with cream so that it's spread more easily on the skin. A derm can be a good idea, or just your generalist, they can prescribe creams which are good too. I tend to forget to ask for another tube so i just prefer using the "herbal" remedy instead. I could suggest similar products from a french brand called Uriage, but i was under the impression it's not found easily, if at all, in the U.S.

The only makeup i use when i feel my skin particularly irritated is mineral makeup, after i let sink in an extra coat of moisturizer.

Try to exfoliate very gently to get rid of the dry skin flakes, that should help a bit.

It's on your face so the risk is minimal but avoid touching that part of your face with wool gloves for example, wool doesn't go well with eczema.

For honey and aloe, aloe can be used separately, or you can mix them together. Aloe is ideal for sensitive skins, so try using only aloe on that spot. If you find a facewash based on aloe vera, use that one too to wash your face (unless yours doesn't irritate your skin of course).

I have eczema too and use hydro cortison ointment which you can get from your local pharmacist. Just a dab on the affected area after a shower is enough. Or you can speak to your local GP and they too can also prescribe some sort of ointment or cream for your eczema. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The goal of treatment for eczema is to relieve and prevent itching, which can lead to infection. Since the disease makes skin dry and itchy, lotions and creams are recommended to keep the skin moist. These solutions are usually applied when the skin is damp, such as after bathing, to help the skin retain moisture. Cold compresses may also be used to relieve itching.

I have the same problem, especially in the winter. Well, what works for me is that when I'm done with my night regimine, I lightly apply aquaphor (vaseline works just as well)  to where it is irratated. It usually goes away and my eyelids are pretty smooth in the morning.

My brother has eczema and he uses LAVEVE PURE Argan Oil.  Argan Oil has superb healing effects, and is said to help with psoriasis and eczema.  He swears by this.  They have great holiday deals now at www.laveve.com

Another product i forgot to mention is Weleda's Calendula moisturising milk (from the baby products), sinks in really well and calms every itch spot.

For the face, think mineral makeup, it soothes and covers :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
