Dying blonde hair

Hi there- i have had box blonde hair for YEARS, i recently used a diff. brand an my roots are a light golden color and the rest is white (from previous highlights) and I was wondering, I know i need a filler and a warm semi permanent will do right as the filler? and then if i wanted to go with light golden blonde would i apply the dye twice? first as teh filler and then again to get the color? How would I do this if im on the wrong track??
