No, having a wart doesn’t automatically make you a green-faced wicked witch, but it’s not pretty either. Warts spawn from a virus called the human papillomavirus (HPV). The Mayo Clinic says, “HPV stimulates the skin to draw in and grow its own blood supply and nerves, which makes the wart very hearty and less likely to disappear on its own.â€

Warts will usually abate in one to two years, but if you are like many people, you don’t want to have to handle the little bump for that long. Instead, you might consider trying out tape occlusion therapy. This is where I found the article: Duct tape: A cure for warts?

My daughter had a wart on her finger for on and off months. We tried the duct tape method and that didn't work - plus it made the wart flat. After three treatments with the doctor who used a medication made from a beetle that did get rid of the wart but it came back time and time again. FINALLY, I had to use Dr. Scholl's Freeze Away Wart Remover from Target and freeze the sucker off. She hasn't had a wart since freezing it off.

Interesting...not sure if I want to wear duct tape for 6 days tho. Freezing is much quicker.

My husband used to have warts and we've tried using duct tape but it didn't work on those stubborn warts. In the end, we had it removed through laser treatment for less than $10. They looked nasty burnt but his skin cleared after about a week.
