I have been washing my hair less than every other day lately, and have been considering using dry shampoos to keep my hair clean on those off days. I've never used them before, have no clue where to start, what to use, or what might be good.

Has anyone used one before?  Do you like them? Have a favorite to recommend?  Are they good for color-treated hair? Can you brush through it or does it make it feel sticky?

Any info you can suggest before I head out to make a purchase would be GREATLY appreciated!!  Thanks!!

I am a dry shampoo user. My hair is black/brown colOred treated, on the thinner side, long and straight with bangs. My bangs and the hair around my face occasionally tend to get greasy and flat looking on second day hair. I love dry shampoo! I've tried several brands and am currently using Tresemme Freshstart for dry/prone to breakage hair. It's my favorite of the ones I've tried. For my hair it takes away the oil/greasy bang thing I have going on and tends to give me boost of body. You just shake it up, spray it on the areas you want it, wait a few minutes, then brush it through. As long as you properly brush it through it's undetectable. Dry shampoo has helped my hair type so much because I dont have to wash as much and still get great looks. I like it so much I am doing a blog post in the near future on dry shampoo's Ive tried and what I've learned :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> If you try a different one, or the one I suggested I'd love to hear how it worked for ya ! Hope this helps!!

I'd love to try another but right now Tresemme seems to be a popular one. I've looked on drug store websites and department store websites and it seems to get the highest rating. I'll see if I get any other opinions and let you know my final verdict and how I like my choice!

Dry shampoo is amazing! As a Dallas Hair Extension Expert my salon uses a variety depending upon client taste. My favorite is the dry shampoo by Toni and Guy | Session Series in the black can. The Tresemme can leave a powdery residue not great for dark hair and the smell is off.

I've tried a few dry shampoos and they were ok. None of them could beat the trick I read years ago in a magazine of just using baby powder. It works the best in my hair. I apply some on my hands, rub it together and apply it in my roots. My hair gets instantly fresh and I get more volume. Being so busy with our kids, I can't sometimes wash my hair as often I would like to but with this trick I can go out of the house and still look ok.

The Tresemme seemed to get good reviews here, on the drugstore's comment lines, etc. I went to get it at Walmart today, and they were out. Typical for me. But they did have a Tresemme Dry Shampoo "Mousse".  You put it on your hands like a styling mousse, run it through your hair, "towel dry" your hair after it's in, and it will air dry in a minute or so. We have a winter storm coming tomorrow so I'll lock myself in the house and try it then. I'll let you know.

I have the finest, oiliest hair ever......I LOVE dry shampoo. I've used almost every brand I've come across. Tressemme worked really well it was just a bit heavy because of the clay ingredients. If you spray too much your hair its hard to brush and gets weighed down. The mousse one did NOT work for me at all. It didnt soak up any oil, and made my hair look greasier. It is supposed to be for thicker, curly hair though so maybe it would work great for that.

Suave's is my favorite at the moment....it smells like pineapple and has a great consistency. Ive been able to dry shampoo 3 days in a row and still look presentable.

I've also used, oscar blandi, psssst, and multiple cosmetic powders, baby powders, and corn starches. They all have worked alright, but nothing blew me away.

Another wonderful option is bumble & bumble colored dry shampoo. Especially if you have dark or crazy colored hair like me dry shampoos can make your hair appear chalky white. These come in various colors like blonde, red, black, brown so they blend into they hair and can be applied more generously. They are just pricier I think like $18 a bottle.
