Hi-I'm having hair problems. I have very thick hair that i have highlighted (30 vol) and low lighted, and it's brunette on half. I haven't done any color treatments on the blond half since late August, or early September. I am an athletic trainer so I almost never use heating tools, because I just toss it up in a pony. Tonight, I went out and I used a blow dryer for the first time, in - I don't know how long. I didn't dry it all the way through and put half of it up in buns. I took the buns out and my hair was dry, frizzy, and a soft course-ness. I know this can happen from treated hair, but this hasn't been an issue until now. Is it the cold weather? Is it from the pony holders? I don't understand. I need some advice to take care of the situation! (Because I really need my roots redone and I's scared!)

Sorry your having hair problems :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> The best advice I can give is to moisturize your hair. Because you often toss up in a pony it might be easy to style your hair with some natural hydrating oils. Jojoba oil has done wonders for me, but there are plenty others to try out. Just squeeze a bit of oil on during the day, or if you prefer at night (with a old covering over your pillow) If you find you wash your hair just about daily, I would also recommend using a 'no poo' shampoo. This type of shampoo will still clean the hair without striping it of its moisture.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like you may have chemical damage and it's just dried out.I have highlighted hair and very, very think hair. Mine is very healthy though. I use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. I mainly use Yes to Cucumbers and Gud brands. I use a Macadamia deep conditioner once a week, and also I use Paul Mitchells Tea Tree Oil Treatment once a week on a different day than the deep conditioner. The Tea Tree Oil was recommended by my hair dresser to help sooth my scalp after I had an allergic reaction to a free shampoo that caused me to have dandruff. I don't have it anymore, but I continue to use the product--I think it helps my hair and scalp. When the hair is wet, I'll put an oil on it either argon or macademia. I really like Josie Maran's Argon oil for hair. It's my HG.

Thanks a lot! I use African Oil on my hair but it's aged quite a bit, so maybe it's time to find new product. Thanks again!
