I was looking for a place to put this, but it just did not seem to fit exactly under the "dry skin" threads so I decided to start a new one:p!

I call this my Bella Foot treatment..... Background: I have Dragon-dry scaly feet that are always dry no mater what. I have never like my bare feet because they look like a cross between an 100 year old grandma and Godzilla..4 months ago my friend told me about this..although it is not a cure all, I like the way it makes me feet seem not so dry.

Before going to bed, take a Few Drops of first cold pressed Olive Oil into your palm. start rubbing it into your feet. repeat on other foot. Only 1 thin layer. Wait 10 to 15 min. Repeat procedure. wait 2 minutes...put on a pair of loose fitting, preferably cotton socks..yes, the downside to this is that you have to wear socks to bed for one night.....when you wake up in the morning and remove the socks, your feet should not be greasy (at least mine never are)..but just feel soft.:icon_love:icon_love

......from DRY FEET...to....um.....o.k. STINKY FEET!!

This is major gross confessions time here, but I have always had..uh, foot issues, I have fairly large, size 8 1/2, very wide feet. Like I said, grandma and Godzilla. While I love massages, even foot reflexology, for some reason, pedicures just gross me out (probably gross out the pedicurist, too) I just don't like people touching my feet directly unless, as Woody Allen once said, we're engaged or something. For years I tried Dr. Scholls foot spray, raid bug spray, you name it. I never took off my shoes in public for fear someone would faint because of the..odor... I had a good diet, never any other B.O. problems..and washed my feet at least twice a day.

What finally got rid of the my stinky tootsies was...bleach.

I put a few drops...only a few drops...be careful, bleach is hardcore toxic stuff, in a tub of just plain medium hot, not very hot but hotter than warm water. No More Smell At All!! I tried this also with ACV, and it was one of the few things ACV would NOT get rid of. You don't (in fact, please don't..be careful) have to soak you feet very long at all- 4 FULL MINUTES MAX, PLEASE.

What is also great for your feet is the DRY BRUSHING technique mentioned by Naturally (Kim) in another SKIN CARE related post.

It is crazy that this DRY BRUSHING technique works at all...but you have to try it to believe it...it is so much healthier..and you will have glowing skin!

Just thought I'd share some of my foot insecurities ....

Anybody else out there a member of the not-so-pretty and-petite feet club?

I have heard of the bleach and black tea is supposed to help also... to soak in. I don't really have a problem with odor, but I use a zinc based product at night to keep my heels soft and the zinc also controls odor.

I am prone to calluses because I'm barefoot half the time! The fastest way I've found to get rid of dead skin is to use a pedicure foot paddle that has a surface like sandpaper (80 grit) and to buff the areas while DRY. Keep a towel underfoot because you're feet are gonna snow! This is amazing for heels and areas where thick layers of dead skin build up. Buy a few paddles if you have lots of dead skin because the tool will start to build up with dead skin cells, which lessens it's ability to buff. These can be rinsed when done, making them return to a like-new condition.

Pay attention as you go so as not to overdo it and cause tender areas.

I also love to use Weleda's Skin Food on my feet. It is extremely hydrating! I use this before I work out. Just put a bit on my feet, put on socks and shoes and let my body heat meld it into my skin.

Where do you buy this cream Kerry? I've been looking for a new foot cream.

The bottoms of my feet are ugly but I'm so lazy about putting cream on them at night. When I remember to, I use this cream in a tube with a funny name "Crack Creme" and then I put socks on before I go to bed. You have to use it diligently for it to work. But I'm often dead tired at night and forget to moisturize. I often walk barefoot at home and then I'm barefoot in my martial arts class so I guess thats where it comes from. But since its not for long, I was confused as to "why the heck are my feet so callused?

they are mean, mean ugly! Luckily though, they don't smell!:icon_chee :icon_lol:

Hi Tonya! You can find it at health food stores and certain vitamin stores like The Vitamin Shoppe. It's about $13.00, depending on where you go, and there are many places online where you can get it cheaper. It's meant to go anywhere on the body as a spot treatment for super-dry skin and the texture is like a creamy ointment, but it sinks in well. Smells divine too! Like an herbally lemon-lime soda. Good for hands, feet, elbows, lips, knees, even *shhhhh* the face!

Weleda is very big over here in Europe. I have a couple of friends that work for them.

Thanks Kerry..It sounds like the foot paddles are awesome and I'm going to give them a try..can I get them anywhere?? Are they expensive??
