When I was a child I had curly hair, then when I was pre-teen I had pin straight hair, then in high school I had curly hair and now I have wavy hair! Has anyone else experienced this change in hair texture?? It's like every few years my hair decides to change itself...so weird

Yup it is the hormones that cause this. I went from straight hair to wavy to wavy/curly hair when I hit puberty. I hated it at first, but once I learned to work with my new waves and curls, I began to love it. I hope it never changes again!

The exact same thing happened to me! I'm so happy that I have curly hair now. It has stayed curly for about ten years now.

so im stuck with this shiznit untill im 28?! its always been fine but i have noticed the last 2-3 years its gotten finer.....maybe for my 28th birthday ill wake up to nice normal wavy hair.......

This happened to me with texture and color even. When I was very little it was dark reddish brown and curly, then when I was in elementary school it was super straight, shiny and almost black and then it turned curly dark reddish brown and now it is lightly wavy dark brown. I was told that wavy is ideal (since you can either enhance your curls or straighten them easily) and so I hope it doesn't change.

Yup...i had straight brown hair when i was little...now its black and wavy! but it is this way for over 10 years now

I am sure it does. When I was younger I had strait "perfect" hair, with volume and no fly aways (haha). Now that I have gotten older it's wavy and frizzy if I don't do it right.

OMG...yes. Wait till you hit your 40's....it really changes then. My hair used to be wavy, now it's curlier but also much coarser. It's like it's getting drier as I get older. I've even had to pluck a few grays...uugghh.

I believe it does, and not necessarily from age but from what we do to it over the years. I used to have fine, hair that cooperated nicely... As I got older, it got more and more unruly... Now, I have battles with it no matter what almost. Although, the constant relaxers and coloring, as well as styling tools didn't help matters much!

when you take certain medications that can affect your hairs appearence, as well as age, but it can also be an elasticity problem, meaning your hair has an ability to stretch espeacially curley hair, so if some how it tends to be looser straighter wavy it could be that the hair stretched out to much or that you don't have as much elasticity in your hair. and loosing elasticity is not good because you can weaken your hair, it is more prone to split ends, what can cause it? well, washing the hair to much can also stretch the hair and it also dries out the scalp and can leave you with dry hair and splits so watch how much you wash your hair

I can tell my hair has changed. I use to have stick straight hair (no waves at all), but now its got some waviness too it.. Its still straight but if I don't fix it, it will look messy and frizzy!
