As in use more than one perfume at the same time? My brother does this, and it does produce a really unique smell. But I'm guessing you have to be careful about which perfumes to layer if you don't want to smell like a perfume shop!!

Does anyone have any tips on how to layer perfumes, e.g. do you go by the base note, or top note, or anything like this? Any particular combos that work really well?

I used to layer two perfumes (4got what they were) but then as I got older I felt it was a bit too strong. Unfornately I don't know crap ab base notes or anything like that. I'm still trying to figure out what I really like so I know what to stay with.

I've done that before. Just experiment when you don't have to go anywhere so if it turns out badly you can always just wash it off.

I like layering fragrances that are somewhat similar. Two fruity ones for example, or layering a vanilla fragrance with something warm or foody.

Escada's fragrances can be layered together because they all smell similar, for example.

A good way to tell without wearing it is to just put both bottles beside each other and smell them both. It'll give you an idea.

I don't layer perfumes, but I can layer complimenting body sprays from MCS, or a body butter and body spray to create a unique scent. From what it seems, vanilla is one scent that can compliment almost anything.

I do with Philosophy's Falling in Love because I feel that is the only way the scent stays on me all day long. Otherwise I don't.

I knew a girl that did something like that. She'd use VS Rhapsody perfume and Amber Romance lotion. They worked well together because they were both dark, musky, with a vanilla scent to them. I guess just try and keep it in the same scent-family and play around with it. : )

I really don't have the confidence to layer perfumes, but I have often thought about it and with I could do it.. but I don't trust myself with it..

When I was at the Bulgari counter, the lady mentioned that the Bulgari line was actually made for layering, and that was the first time that I've heard about layering perfumes. She sprayed a bit of "Voile de jasmin" on my hand, and then sprayed some of the "Rose Essentielle" perfume on the same spot.. This was a very unique combination and smelled divine! I was truly surprised.

I layer scents when I put on oils. I've never tried that with spray perfumes though.
