Q: Do I need to wear sunblock every day, even when it's cloudy?
A: Yes and yes. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, 90 percent of premature aging and skin cancers are caused by sun exposure. Applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen (one that protects from both UVA and UVB rays) is your best defense. And while UVB rays may be partially blocked by clouds, UVA rays (the ones responsible for wrinkles and age spots) are just as strong as on a sunny day. A total block, applied liberally every morning, is the only way to keep your skin from becoming a statistic.
