At night, I take off my make-up with Tea Tree Oil.(I wet a puff and add a few drops of TTO). It removes all my make-up completely. Then I wash my face just with water, after, I apply my moisturizer.

In the morning, I just wash my face with water and wash-cloth.

I have combo acne-prone skin. I was wondering if I need to use a cleanser? Am I still doing the "cleaning"? I've tried a ton of cleansers but they all seem to break me out.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

hm..how about you try OCM and them just wipe your face with a face cloth and water..them moisturize (this step can even be skipped because the olive oil in the OCM provides loads of moisture)

What kind of cleansers have you tried? I remember back in the day how the drugstore brands (Neutrogena, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, etc) would make me break out horrendously, due to the harsh surfectants they use. They also dried out my skin, so it would work overtime to produce oil. Even though you have combo skin, try a creamier, non-drying cleanser, such as Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk or L'Occitane Daily Face Cleanser. Another thing you may want to look for is salicylic acid in the ingredients, as it is one of the gentler cleansing components. I've used Murad Clarifying Cleanser and liked it.

The moisturizer you use could also be at fault if it's not non-comodegenic, especially if it's not really being washed off. That could definately clog your pores and contribute to break outs. I personally don't use oil-free moisturizers, but if you aren't already using one, I'd look into it.

However bear in mind that everyone's skin is different. I read somewhere that Nicole Richie only washes her face with dove soap, and look at her skin! Everything is recommend is only what has worked in my experience, and who knows, maybe washing your face in only water is keeping your skin the best it can be right now. Good luck!

(sorry this is not the answer to your post but I just wanted to ask you)

I've never heard of using Teatree oil for getting rid of makeups! very unique.

the only purpose I used it was for spots on my chin..

where did you get the idea & does that makes your eye area dry at all?

I love the oil cleansing method. And empericalbeauty is right - there's really no need to moisturize when you're done because of the olive oil. I've always had pretty bad skin (tons of blackheads, bumpy, EXTREMELY oily), and since I've been using OCM it's improved dramatically. It's not perfect, but definitely better.

Well, you can either try a cleanser, try the OCM, or keep up with what you're doing... If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it (as the girls told me regarding a peel).

I'm surprise to hear washing your face w/TTO doesn't dry u out .

Have u tried Cetaphil Cleansers? It's realli gentle.

I highly recommend the OCM , I can realli see a difference in my skin after only a week. It's softer, smoother, ... less oily :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

okies girlies

i just started using an antibacterial soap bar. i take my make-up off with that too.

I agree with Retro-Violet. If it is working for you don't change it. My sister never uses a cleanser. She just uses water to wash her face and never breaks out. But she doesn't wear makeup or sunscreen either.
