If shopping for skincare products leaves your head spinning, you're probably searching for the definitive list of great-skin must-haves. Your search is over! Read on for the top five products recommended by dermatologists:

1. Cetaphil cleanser: This non-soap cleanser is ultra-gentle on all types of skin. Its low lather won't strip away skin's natural oils, and its pure ingredients guarantee no clogged pores or dry patches. Plus, it's fragrance-free.

2. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion: With a combination of vitamins A, C, and E, plus gentle alpha-hydroxy acids, this light lotion makes skin glow. It's also available in a delicate-skin formula, and a formula with SPF 15.

3. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: Another gentle product, this moisturizer is great for all parts of your body (including your face, since it's non-comedogenic). It also comes in a cream formula for drier skin.

4. Lac-Hydrin 5: For scaly patches, dry-skin bumps, and cracked areas, this potent alpha-hydroxy acid lotion does the trick. It gently exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time. It is also available in prescription-strength through your dermatologist.

5. Renova: A prescription medication, Renova is a more emollient version of Retin-A. It works wonders to clear up adult acne, smooth fine lines, and even out skin tone.

thanks for the info

cetaphil has sodium lauryl sulphate in it so I've never tried it......do you girls have any problems with it???

thx for the great post.

dentaldee -- my friend got me into cetaphil and i love it

I use Cetaphil as a makeup remover. It's really gentle on the eyes and doesn't sting, even when I get some in my eye. I don't use it just as a cleanser because it doesn't leave my skin feeling fresh and clean like I want it to! Hope that helps and thanks for the article!

I used cetaphil for a long time. My skin had some breakout so I was trying to use "gentle" products. I read that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can cause or make acne worse. I stopped using it.

Also, it doesn't remove makeup very well. I had to use a makeup remover and then use the Cetaphil.

It does make my skin very soft and is non-drying on my skin.

It doesnt remove my makeup very well either. I use a different remover before washing my face.

Cetaphil was o.k. for my face (better than proactive) but then I tried aveeno (liquid cleanser) and hated it, then tried the aveeno clear complexion bar and I'm in love.

wow, those are really plain, pharmecutical brands, if i used those id spend a lot less money trying new things i pretty packaging. i like seeing the cool bottles in my bathroom though:love5: a bottle of cetaphil can last you about a year
