I bought my first deep conditioner (Garnier Fructis), and I had a few questions:

1. How often should I use it? The product label doesn't say -- I was thinking maybe once a week? My hair is pretty healthy, but I have a lot of broken-off pieces I would like to grow out, and the ends are a little frazzled since I neglected to trim it while I was growing it out (though I will be getting regular trims now!)

2. Where should I apply it? Do I use it on just the length of my hair like a regular conditioner? Right now I have been using it on the length, plus on the section of hair right at the front around my face, since I have so many broken-off hairs there!

Thanks!

I love that hair mask! It's the one in the round jar, right? That stuff works like magic.
To answer your questions, I generally use it when I feel my hair needs it. If I feel the ends getting a little too dry, I'll use it. I don't use it more than once or twice per week. I apply it all over my hair, because I have recently had some bad tangling problems and I have a lot of broken off hair right along my part. I find that it helps relax the broken off hairs and makes them more manageable so they're not sticking straight up all the time.

You can also just use a little on the ends when you use your regular conditioner... as long as your hair isn't too fine. If it is.. once a week is good.

I would say anything that you could put into a ponytail. Usually when I'm in the shower, I'll make a 'low pony' at the nape of my neck... and just condition that. Anymore and my hair tends to be weighed down.

HTH!!

Thanks!

I use this exact product every week once a week

I use it after clarifying, and apply it to all the hair that would be in a low ponytail, like Janelle said. I read in 5th grade that that's the best spot to apply conditioner, and it works pretty well!

I read in 5th grade that that's the best spot to apply conditioner, and it works pretty well! Thanks! I know that you're not supposed to apply conditioner to the roots -- not only does it weigh down your hair, it can also clog your pores as you rinse it off and it runs down your face (or so my dermatologist said).
However, after seeing the tons of broken-off hairs around my face, I realized that the hair around my face barely reaches the rubber band of a low ponytail when it's dry, so it's not getting any conditioner on it! And that is the hair that frames your face and is often the focal point of your hairstyle -- so shouldn't it be conditioned also? So I've been applying conditioner to the hair in the front (but still not on the roots, anywhere), being careful to keep that conditioned hair flipped back over my head so I don't get the conditioner on my face!

I guess I will be able to tell in a few months if that actually helps....
