Has anyone ever tried those crystal deodorants? I shower every day and sweat moderately. Unfortunately by the end of the day after using many diff. otc antiperspirants, I can still be sweaty and/or smelly under my pits. I don't know what else to try. Help!!!

I used to have a MAJOR sweating problem - like I would have pit stains in wool sweaters during the winter! I could never wear colored shirts or anything. I started using Certain Dry for a few months. After that I stopped and I didn't sweat for like 5 months. Then the sweating came back for a little while. Then I just used the CD for a couple days, and it was gone again. I rarely ever sweat now. I've heard terrible things about crystal deodorants - like that people who use them are REALLY stinky. I don't think they work - never tried one, but they don't sound too promising.

I use certain-dri also, they just came out with a formula for daytime also. Heck, I even had to use drysol before (the prescription anti-d) but it burned so bad I would rather use certain-dri. Deoderants (like the crystal) only masks the fragrance while anti-perspirant helps stop it. I dont really see what the point of a strictly deoderant is, I dont want to walk around with huge wet spots under my arms. Ok, now that ya'll know too much about me, i will end my post

It is in a stick and apparently is just a deodorant with all natural ingredients. Sorry, I don't know much more about them, only heard someone talking about it. Thanks for answering.

I have never tried the crystal formula so I cannot help you there but last summer I had the same problem and tried about 5 different deodorants until I found my hg Secret Platinum (the soft solid kind that you twist up through the little holes) It is wonderful!!!!!!!!

i have a couple of customers that swear by deodorant crystals because of their sensitivity to deodorants. you have to remember that they are not antiperspirants, so they don't help alot with sweating, but the should manage any odor problems. they last about a year. i like them i lot, although i can't use them all the time because i do sweat alot.

it's a stone that you wet then apply to your underarm.

Yeah, if you sweat at all, I definitely wouldn't recommend just a deodorant. You'll def. need an anti-perspirant as well. I usually just stick with Secret. It keeps me dry and keeps the funk at bay for the most part.

I need to check out the crystal stick. I have been using Degree for years but never hurts to change things around.

I tried crystal deodorant before and wasn't impressed, my mom says it works great for her, but not for me. It didn't work too well at covering odors, so I went back to my regular deodorant.

Never tried it, but I heard that lush do something similar to that whether its crystal or not i dont know, but ive heard they're pretty good. They use all natural ingredients and plus it lasts wayyy longer than normal deodrant for a good price too xxx

In high school I got a prescription for Drysol. It stung (especially after shaving) but it definately controlled my armpit sweating but I still used it along with my regular deoderant. I heard those crystal ones don't work at all. I actually grew out of sweaty underarm stage so don't worry, it won't be forever. I currently use dove and that works quite well for me.

does anyone know a deodorant that wouldn't leave the white marks on blacks becuase i practically tried everything even Dove from the commercial but it didn't really help much. Thanks.

I've seen them but never tried them. I love my Dove deo and haven't been dissapointed with it yet.

I have used all sorts of "natural" crystal deodorants:

rock

spray

roll-on

Out of those 3, I definitely liked the roll-on the best b/c I felt like I was finally getting a decent layer of coverage, but you do need to let it dry before putting on your top.

That said, I do not have a problem with wetness - as a matter fact, I rarely sweat & when I do it is the lightest dew layer ever. The problem I contend with is odor, which I suspect has to do with not ever really sweating (like the stagnant pool effect).

For me, using those perfumer rollers has hands down been one of the best ways that I've controlled odor. With Secret deodorant, if I got hot and ended up sweating (albeit a fractional amount), I would kick up a serious funk! Ironically, Ban roll-on (unscented) has been one of the best commercial deodorant, a/p's out there to control odor and if it gets on a black top I'm wearing, one swipe of my hand and the white easily comes off of the fabric.

This is no doubt more than you wanted to know...

So one last thing, I definitely intend to try out the LUSH line of deodorants (aromacreme, if nothing else). I will post back and state what I think of it, but that won't be for quite some time.

Certain-Dri has a time of deodorant that comes in a green and white box and it works really well

I'm currently using the spray crystal deo; it does NOT stop the odor OR the wetness, so I'm very disappointed. However, with my family history of breast cancer, I'm wary of traditional antiperspirants because they contain aluminum. Anybody else in the same boat that I am?
