I was hoping I could get some help creating a skin care routine. I have little knowledge of make up and have no idea where to start!

I'll try to describe my skin as best I can (I can provide a picture, if needed, but the most recent would probably be a year or so ago!):

I have very fair skin that is prone to sun damage. I do have quite a bit of sun damage from being on farms.

I have acne problems around my brow/forehead and my mouth/around the bottom of my nose. I seem to have acne scars, or red marks, around my mouth area as well.

I have freckles over my nose/cheeks that grow pretty wild in the summer.

I constantly battle under-eye bags, seemingly regardless of how much I sleep.

I seem to be developing wrinkles on my forehead, but I'm only 19. Is this normal? Could they not be permanent, but the result of not sleeping/eating well for the past few weeks? Or perhaps being sick?

The wrinkles are what is driving me to start a good skin care routine. They came in the past few days. I have been really stressed out for about two months, which means not sleeping or eating well for me!

I know nothing about any of this, so anything from A to Z will help! I'd be interested in knowing what products to use, when to use them, ways to improve my skin through daily routines - anything really! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yes, being stressed, sick, not eating well, not sleeping well or enough, can cause wrinkles. As well as sun (actually the light, so mainly the sun).

Considering you are prone to sun damage and still have some acne, i would suggest using a sunscreen with a good spf on a daily basis. Take at least an spf of 30. I personally prefer using a separate sunscreen, but there is also on the market moisturizers with a built in sunscreen. This will help the scars as well.

For the scars i am a fan of more natural methods, i use essential oils. Lemon or grapefruit are great, but phototoxic so you can only use them at night. Instead i favor lavender, which helps dealing with acne in general and scars, but these take time to fade. I have a light skin and it takes me 6 months to have mine fade completely, less if they're small. I know you can use chemical peels as well, glycolic especially but my sensitive skin doesn't agree with them so i can't suggest any specifically. What i can suggest is a cream with AHA inside, this helps dealing with acne, but avoid it if your skin is sensitive.

The rest is pretty simple, really. Daily you would need a moisturizer, non comedogenic of course, a light texture for summer i think is enough, unless your skin is really dry. At night you can use a heavier moisturizer if you like, or the same.

I would add about once a week a scrub, especially in those areas you have acne, and you could follow with a mask. I use clay for masks, white clay is quite good and gentle. I do a scrub with baking soda and face cleanser, it works well. I also love Korres thyme honey scrub, but it's difficult to get and more expensive.

For the undereye bags, you can try an eyecream, i suggest a gel unless you also want to bring more moisture. The gel helps giving that cool effect (place the eyecream in the fridge if you can). You can also try cold green tea, or cold tea bags on your eyes, as well as cornflower or chamomile on a cotton pad. They help a little. Another solution would be icecubes under the eyes, but that i never tried !

One thing that is actually beneficial for wrinkles is a face massage, it helps relieving the tensions. I use a method from Chizu Saeki, she has a book called the skincare revolution that is quite good. You can also find videos on youtube.

On a side note, i suggest magnesium pills for your stress, they help.

Awesome, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for all the advice; I'll take a look around the site for products that fit your description.

Thanks! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
