Could patting your face dry with a "rough" towel cause problems?

I recently started using a different washcloth everyday for my face. However, I've been getting these weird skin bumps on my forehead (like non-painful acne without a whitehead).

The washcloths were from the dollar store and although they're 100% cotton they're not as soft (though by no means bad) as my regular body towel.

Could these new washcloths be the cause of my problem? (And technically, I don't think they were made for the face, I think they're hand towels).

I agree with Naturally, I don't think the washcloth is causing the problems, unless you didn't wash it before you used it, or unless something got on it that didn't get washed off. I I had something like that happen to me when I was using a new rhassoul soap once.
