Has anybody on here ever gone to a cosmotology school for a facial? We have a school here in town that my sister attended, and I went there all the time when she was in school, just to give her the necessary client numbers needed for her schooling. They usually offer all the services of any other salon, but at half the cost. I've gone there for massages ($25 for a full hour is pretty nice) and have been mostly happy with their services. However, I've also gone for leg waxing, and had to come home and tweeze a bunch.

All that to ask about facials. Anybody with expierence on a school facial, are they the same quaility as a full service salon? I'm thinking of getting a facial for my bday (Friday), but I don't want to spend $65 if I can get one at the school for cheaper - and still come out feeling pampered and great skin.

Thanks for any info!

I get facials at the local school about twice a month. Here, they are $10. Sometimes they are really good, sometimes not. It depends on who does them. You get a better facial towards the end of the class, not when they are first starting. The only negative is privacy. Here, you are not in your own room. The areas are divided by a curtain.

Hi,

While in esty school, I remember feeling more comfortable doing facials once I had a few of them under my belt.

If I were you I'd go to a spa for my birthday facial. I am in esthy school and while we work hard and practice hard we're still newbies and it may not be as good as a facial from someone who has done more than one or two. It's the luck of the draw when you go to schools to get services done, some are just naturally better than others. Hope you have a great birthday:flowers:

My sister went to cosmotology school and they used all the top salons products...And they give a great facial. You can also get your hair, cut, colored and styled. Great prices! :clap

Thanks for all the replies....I think that the school here in town is towards the end of their class, so chances are I'd get an advanced student. It is still a gamble, and I just may go to a salon. It is my birthday afterall!:icon_smil I'm worth a little extra $$, right? :smilehappyyes:

I went to one just a few months ago. I found it good. I enjoyed the facial and came back refreshed and clean. The girl who did the facial for me was graduating the next day, so I guess she was not completely inexperienced.

I'm fr LA. Dou know any school in here? How can I do that? Just walk in there or I need to call them first. I want to try it. Thanks!

I am interested in getting facials for less money at a beauty school I have one really close to my house. do they do a lot to help clear or irritate a complexion?

I really need to find one around here. Since I moved across town five years ago, I haven't even attempted to look for one nearby.

I had one from a friend who was doing her "test" facial, meaning there was an instructor around grading them, and it was completely free- this was also at an Aveda Institute. I'd do it again, but then I don't have problem skin. Other facials I've had have been so-so, I either didn't notice any difference or actually broke out afterwards. The aveda facial was an awesome experience, and I DID notice a glow to my skin for at least a week afterwards.
