So, if anybody can give some comfort to my situation. I just bought the Rembrant 2 hour teeth bleaching system yesterday and I followed the directions to a T. Anyhoo, I was fine lastnight but this morning around 4:00am I woke up and my teeth (not my gums) were causing me horrific pain. :10: I couldn't even breath through my mouth because the air was making it hurt worse. It hasn't gotten any better, in fact I had to take some Tylonol just to eat. I have always used the regular Rembrant whitening system with no problems or sensitivity, but this is rediculous. It said it was non-abrasive and safe. Has anybody ever had this problem? :scared:

Do you have sensitive teeth? If so, maybe that might be why you're in pain? I've never used a bleaching system on my teeth, so I can't be positive.

that's the nature of the beast!!!!

teeth have microscopic holes in then wear dirt gets trapped so basically when you do bleaching, you're flushing out the holes, so in turn cold air and stuff can get closer to the nerve inside your tooth. (not near the nerve by any means!) anyway.......... my teeth get very sore and achy too. this particular product you are using may be stronger than other stuff you have used.....the stronger the more discomfort you may have.

I've never had sensitive teeth, but that diff. makes sense. I just hope this pain doesn't last longer than a week. They are a tiny bit whiter now, but I wouldn't do this again for this pain.

if you continue to do it for another day or 2 it won't get worst but it will hurt when you actually have the bleach on your teeth. It usually doesn't last longer and 2-3days......a week at most! there shouldn't be any permanent damage............what % is the bleach?

welcome to MUT btw!!!

btw..........the ad at the top of this page is hilarious!!! those elastics cost about 1cent each!! ask anyone you know who has braces for a bag!!! and as soon as you take the elastic off the teeth will go back!

Yeah, I've bleached my teeht with the stuff the dentist shouldn't send you home with (But mine does anyway). If it hurts that bad, your teeth are sensitive, and you left it on too long. Warm soup or drinks are a godsend, and believe it or not, so is Vaseline.

Rub some on, and not only are your teeth shiny glossy wet, but it protects from the harsh elements until you feel better!!

Good luck!

Same happened to me . Use toothpaste for sensitive teeth for the time being and try and eat food thats at room temp. till the pain wears off.

thank you all for your replys. I feel alot better knowing that it's pretty normal if you have sensitive teeth. lastnight I still couldn't touch my front teeth, but this morning i'm feeling alot better.

don't use the toothpaste for sensitive teeth until you have stopped the bleaching process. what that toothpaste does is fill the tubules that I mentioned above..........so it will make the bleaching less effective!!

My teeth are sensitive too. I am usually fine using Crest Whitestrips but I tried something Rembrandt too once and it made my gums develop like white areas and hurt my teeth. Eeeek haha. But the Whitestrips have caused me no harm so I'll stick to those.
