Hi everybody! You guys are so helpful so I know you'll have some good info to give me!

My first question is about color...In the past I've been super blonde(not naturally), and then I darkened up right before my sorority recruitment (in early August). My natural color is kind of a boring Ashy light brown/dark blonde color(I actually have only seen it in the roots...I haven't had my natural color in a looong time). The color I had put in in August was a mix of carmel, dark blonde, and light brown. It looked really awesome, but the color put on over the blonde was semi-permanent, where as the reddish more carmelly color on top was permanent. Soo...my hair oxidized and now it's my natural color at the root, reddish in between, and blonde for the rest. I need to fix this...but here's the really big problem. I'm at college in a very small town where I don't have a hairstylist and I'm not going home until Thanksgiving. Very sucky. I need to figure out a solution to this. I need two things- an idea of what color I should go for now, because I could go a million different ways and I'm not sure what would look best on me(pictures included), and how to find a good hair place that I can trust(the questions to ask, things to look for, etc). Thanks!

One other question about my hair. I'm quite lazy when it comes to styling it(plus I'm terrible at it in every way). What are some really cute things I could do with my hair(it's shoulder length and I'm growing it out) that wouldn't take very long and wouldn't be too difficult to do. Basically all I do now is wear it down and in a pony tail.

Anyway, here are some pictures of me so it can inspire ideas!

The first one is me with the really blonde on top, dark on bottom. The second one is during recruitment where it's reddish and darker. The third one is the same as the second but it has weird lighting so it looks more brown(I'm on the left in that one and excuse the major red eye).

The easiest way would be to try to match up your natural color as much as possible. It won't fade as fast since summer is over... and darker colors are always a nice pick for fall/winter. For a style - you can try using a bunch of those little claw clips and clip back a few pieces off your face... then you can curl it, straighten it, scrunch it - you name it

Do you think I should try to dye it myself? Heh...I've had bad luck, but I'm guessing a darker color wouldn't be as easy to mess up as a light color. I'm so scared to take the plunge away from the color I'm used to. Ack! Thanks for the tip about the little clips, I have a bunch of those around here somewhere!

You should be ok if you go darker... just be sure you work quickly, and cover all your hair - so that you don't miss spots. If you are in doubt, get a second box
