i just got chi flat iron for xmas. i'm not sure if i want to keep it (the 1 inch) or exchange it for 2 inch. what do you guys think?

I recently got a 1 in Chi straightener and I absolutely love it! I have really thick, wavy hair and at first I was worried that the 1 in wouldn't do the job or wouldn't do it fast enough, but it works really well. The 2 in size might work a bit faster, but doesn't straighten as well because it can't get as close to the roots as the 1 in. So if you want stick-straight, weightless hair, go with the 1 in, and if you want a slightly faster finish time with a bit less straightening go with the 2 in. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have the 1 inch and I love it. Its the more popular of the 2. I use it to flatten and curl my hair, its fab. I think you should keep the one you have!!

oh, well... the 1" will be a tighter curl than the 2". It all depends if you want ringlets or barrel curls/waves... :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

yeah.... if you want loose curls, the 2" might be better for you. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> --- UNLESS! You have really 'hard to hold a curl' hair.. which in that case, keep the 1", becuase the curl might be tight at first, but will relax... if you get a 2" and start with a loose curl, it'll just go straight again. But if you have hair that easily holds a curl, get a 2".

I think you should keep it. Practice and you will love it once you know how to use it. I have the 2 inch one and I think it is great for my very long hair. But it is much heavier than the one inch one. Also, my hairdresser complains that it does not reach the roots. However, I do not think that my hairdresser is correct because my hair comes out very straight from the roots to the ends with no frizz.

I use a 1 1/2 inch barrel curling from HotTools and it gives me nice curls. Nothing to tight which I like. Can someone recommend another brand that's good? Something a little lighter to work with.

As for the CHI flat iron, I have the 1 inch ceramic and it works great. Super quick and leaves hair so straight with minimal work.

Hmmm... not sure which are much lighter - most are at least 1lb. But, you might want to check out Jilbere, Wigo and CHI irons... they give nice curls :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

My sister went to beauty school and came home with a chi flat iron. (original) It was amazing! I loved it. No pulling or snagging, just baby soft smooth hair. So I gonna get one after buying the horrible babybliss ceremic pro. Which in my opinion is a waste of money. It pulls and breaks your hair and when its humid out say bye bye to flat hair and hello to frizzy wavy locks!

Thanks for the info!! Glad you found something that works for ya'!! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Ps... I'm going to edit he title of this thread since we are also taking about the CHI curling irons.. :icon_cool
