I'm stuck between Lumiere's silk powder and BE's mineral veil.

They're full sizes are pretty much the same price but I was wondering:

  1. Lumiere offers 12grams for $18 and BE is 0.47oz for $19, I'm not good with conversions at all, which one offers more product?
  2. Does BE mineral veil have bismuth in it?
  3. Which would you recommend/prefer and any short reviews would greatly be appreciated

12 grams = .42 ounces

Mineral veil ...at the least the last time i checked didn't have bismuth in it. Mineral Veil felt nice...and i never tried Lumiere...ultimately it's up to you..what feels good on your skin.

I didn't like how mineral veil looked on me...it's not something i'd choose.

wow, i'm suprised, i would've thought lumiere offered more. I'm mostly set on lumiere but since BE is so widely used because it's a sephora brand, i thought that it'd had to be something amazing.

BE mineral veil has cornstarch but it doesn't break me out. It doesn't have bismuth in it but the finish is flawless. I really like it and I've been using it alternately with Monave Angel finishing powder, and those are the only 2 finishing powders I use (although will try Silk Naturals finishing powder after all the rave reviews).

Really these are two very different finishing powders; different ingredients. What is your skin type? While I really like Lumiere; I find the silk type finishing powders too much for my oily skin. Silks seems to hold in moisture and makes me more oily. Silk works well for dry skin. I have the Flawless Finish and Veena Velvet Finishing powders from Lumiere.
If you like the idea of a Mineral Veil product; there is other companies that make similar products for less. I personally dislike this type of finishing powder (cornstarch based). EDM has one for less.

Also if you order from Lumiere; free shipping to Canada. As I said I do like Lumiere and have ordered lots of different products over the past year. Silk powder (theirs and others) just doesn't work for my oily skin.

Thanks for the reply, I actually thought the silk formula was for controlling oily skin and I like that it can be used as a primer and finishing powder. I also don't know much about the mineral veil but I'm pretty sure cornstarch is not so great in makeup as it can harvest bacteria (I think) so the shelf life would be short.
And I was originally interested in all of Lumiere's finishing powders but I tried their veena velvet foundation once and it made my oily skin too matte upon application but my oils still shone through like normal (which is very shiny) after an hour.
