Can you put a semi permanent over highlights

hey i got my hair highlighted a couple of months ago. and well parts of it's too light for me, i was wondering if i could put a wash out color (natural instincts) on over it. i was thinking either a light ash brown or a dark ash blonde. my natural hair has gold in it. i just wanted to see what it would look like before going permanent.

Yea you can put a semi over highlights.. it will tone it right down

thanx, should i use a blonde you think or a brown. i like the med to dark blonde. i know it will darken my highlights since some of them look almost white. but my roots are dark and i don't know if it will lighten them. they're about an inch grown out. at the most.

Choose a semi colour thats a bit darker than your natural colour, then as it lightens it will be very natural looking

i hate when that happens! highlights are uneven and the color is too much..hope you get it lookin' better.
