bigsexyhair volumizing gel used to work WONDERS for me, but now it doesn't. i shampoo, use a mask, clarify, etc. and it doesn't work anymore. i've been using head & shoulders lately and i've noticed my hair hasn't been the way it has, so maybe that's it, but today i use herbal essences and still the gel didn't work.

i'm going to buy a new shampoo and conditioner (aussie real volume) tomorrow, so hopefully things will be back to normal!

has your hair all of a sudden ever stopped "working" with something?

yes! that happen with my ojon, i loveddddd it for like 5 months, then it just stopped working for me cause that is all i was using, maybe once in a while you have to switch it up a bit, but im searching for some new products(it sukcs):icon_love

I thought someone said this was a myth? That hair doesn't "get used" to something? AARG!! Now I am all confused!

i dont really see how hair can get immune to something, especially if you wash it and apply the product to fresh hair etc. imean its not really alive except at the root so its not like it can develop an antibody to the product or something.. strange.

You really can't be immune to a product, but sometimes the ingredients can leave you with slight build up over time. Get a clarifying shampoo (Suave is good) use it once instead of your regular stuff. Then when you go back to the usuals... they should seem to have more impact ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i do use one :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> neutrogena's. it's always worked SO well and left my hair literally squeaky clean, but now it doesn't, for some reason. i bought suave's today, though, so i'll try it out soon!

thanks!

I bought this stuff at Sally's that is like the BioSilk Silk Therapy, and it used to work great, but now it makes my hair staticky and not shiny. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I will try the Suave out, then!

Happens all the time, by Clarifying the hair to remove old buildup from your shampoo and conditioner and styling products it will help with your shampoos and conditioners to work better for you. I clarify once a week to make sure my hair has no buildup cause I use tons of products that have silicones in them.

The Suave clarifying shampoo is fabulous. Works great and it's cheap! Just don't use it too often or your hair will feel stripped, yuk!

I agree with this, you will know when you need to use your clarifying shampoo. Oh one more thing when I do it, I shampoo once rinse then again I shampoo let it sit a bit then rinse and use my normal conditioner I always use.

From what I understand it is a myth. What happens is you get a built up of product on your hair, and the product does not seem to work as well. Just use a clarifying shampoo, and then go back to the product you like.
