I've use Retin A for years so I'll share some information with you.
The active ingredient in Retin A is called tretinoin.
Tretinoin is what does all the wonderful things like build collagen, remove wrinkles, etc.
Tretinoin comes in various strengths in Canada and the US. .01, .02, .05, .10 as examples.
Note that you must always start at a strength no stronger that .02. Get use to this level for a decent period of time before going to the next strength. Remember that just because .01 might be good does not make .02 (double the dosage) better.
You can get a prescription for anyone of these strengths.
In Canada, Retin A can be prescribed for both acne and for cosmetic purposes.
You can get products with .02 Tretinoin in over the counter products sold at drug stores and department stores. Anything over .02 must require a prescription.
In Canada, a 45 gram tube sells for $25. In the US, the same size tube sells for about $100.
.......................................
I went to the Retina101 site and could not find any information pertaining to the active ingredient in their product(s) and whether they even use Tretinoin. Highly doubtful (always check the spellings of these product names).
Also, I couldn't ind any prices - no clue what I would be paying for anyways.
Remember that their line is not called Retin A, but Retina. Buyer beware with this line.
