I read some people using the Buff Puff to wash their face. I got the extra gentle one. thank god! if that one was scratchy on my face, the regular one would feel like i was rubbing a brilo pad on my face.

does it get softer after continuous use?

It does get softer, but I've never had good experiences with Buff Puff. My mother really likes them, though.

thanks

if i continue to ue it, i'll thor them out every now and then. but i think it's really abbrasive for my skin. and i got the extra gentle one.

Mine always get soft very quickly, too quickly for me ... you're supposed to replace them after 4-6 weeks (as it says on the package, and as my dermatologist recommended) but mine are soft (too soft!) after only about 2 weeks!

If it is irritating your skin, make sure you scrub very gently! My dermatologist told me to use the original texture with Cetaphil bar soap, and just rub very, very lightly, and it never irrated my skin. (Unless I started scrubbing harder, of course!) However now I can only find the Gentle texture in all my local drugstores, so I've been using it, but yeah, it doesn't keep its texture very long at all for me!

Yes, Liz, I've used these before. The gentle and the regular one. My dermatologist said to throw them away. They do get full of bacteria.

I use the one from Savon Drugstore, extra gentle. It will get softer after continuous use. I use it about twice a week with Stila's Retexturizing Scrub.

Hey, I just thought of something, what are you using with your Buf Puf sponge? Because you're not supposed to use a scrub with an exfoliating sponge, that's going to be too much abrasion for your skin. (Or so I heard on a skin care segment on the news .... plus my dermatologist told me to use the Buf Puf with soap....) Try using the sponge with a soap or other non-abrasive cleaner!

A friend of mine in high school had a terrible bacteria infection all over her face from a loofah sponge that never dried out completely and grew bacteria inside. For the longest time the doctors thought it was severe acne and put her on all sorts of crazy medicines with strong side effects, until they finally figured out it was the loofah! She then went on a personal campaign of telling everyone not to use loofah sponges, lol

i'm using the gentle cetaphil cleanser. but the buf puf feels really scratchy
