I used to use Nair on my upper lip, occasionally I would leave it on too long and get a light burn. One day, I was looking at a photo and it looked like I had a damned mustache! My b/f's brother asked him one day, "What's up with your girl's mustache?" OMG!!!! It's NOT hair, I keep the hair off, my skin has turned darker, apparently from the Nair. Now I always wear concealer on it and I do a glycolic and MD regularly but it's STILL there. I tried lightening cream for a while but nothing changed.

Anyone know how to get rid of this?

I have insurance now so have been thinking of going to the derm.

Omy hun, I suggest u go to the derm and also warn other about Nair ,I wouldnt never use it anyways who knows whats in it I hope u can get rid of it

Hello,

They changed the formula of Nair several years ago

and it's just too strong. Yes, it will burn you very quickly. I switched to Sally Hansen facial remover and have had no problem, it's very mild.

You do need to visit your derm, you skin has been burned and you may be causing more damage by using skin lighteners.

it's called hyperpigmentation. i have some on the same place from waxing. you can get a skin bleaching cream. you can get an over the counter one. or you might be able to get a stronger one from a dermatologist. it will still take some time though to lighten it and you have to keep up w/ it too.

She tried the skin lightner , is that the same as skin bleacher?

i'm not sure if it's the same or if the bleach is stronger. they have different kinds out there. you have to apply it the exact amount of times a day and keep up with it. if you start to see results and miss a day it comes back. sucks. the dermatologist gives out lightening creams and it does the same thing. its a slow process takes sometimes about a month to get the results you want, if its really bad may take longer. but the bleach and lightening cream are basically the same thing. i think they are really but i could be wrong.

Maybe you should stop using Nair. Sounds like you may have a reaction to it.

oh make sure you wear some high spf around uv rays or it can make it darker.
