Hi Everybody,

I am not sure which forum to post this question. I guess it's kind of related to makeup because white teeths make people look pretty. Anyway, has anybody tried Brite Smile. How do you like the result? Any side-effects? Do you think it's worth the money? And any other comments you might have. Thank you for your input!!!!

is this an in office treatment???I can give lots of advice but I'm not familiar with this particular brand.

Yes, it's a in office treatment. All I know is they apply the gel on you and it's activated by laser and the whole treatment only takes about an hour.

we do the same kinda thing in my office just a different brand. It does not harm your teeth. The amount of whitening you get depends on how dark they are to begin with.... the darker to start.... the better the results. In my opinion..... an average person's teeth do not end up being super duper white but they will defiantly improve....avg. 6 shades lighter. your teeth are usually super sensitive and quite sore for about 12 hours after but after that they go back to normal.

how much do they charge???

I'm not sure about "Brite Smile".. but my mom and a few of my friends have done the "Zoom" whitening treatment - which is pretty much the same thing... gel and the light - done by a dentist. And their results were amazing! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Ummm... I think like $275-300?? around there? It might be a little more elsewhere... the tanning salon near us offers it a little cheaper because they 'own the lamp' or something and don't rent it like most dentists do. Then they have a dentist in there a few times a week to do the treatments

wow....that's pretty good, I thought it was more in the US. we charge $400. I've never heard of it being at a tanning salon???? nor a dentist not owning the light?? I guess there are diff. regulations there.

Yeah -- I dunno... I know she charges around $400 at her office, but because the salon has their own light - she just goes there and can do it cheaper. She said something about how most dentists dont own it around here... not sure --- but it worked like a charm! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

good to hear they got good result.

I find some people are a bit disappointed b/c they expect to look like Ross's glow in the dark teeth:laughno: :laughno: :laughno:

I went to the Brite Smile located in the Houston Galleria a couple of years ago to have my teeth whitened. They were really white to begin with, though, so my results were nothing major. My teeth were super sensitive afterwards. I mean to the point that I had to take pain pills. Luckily, I had some on hand that were prescribed to me after my wisdom teeth extraction. I'm planning to go again, eventually.

Oh, and I purchased a Sonicare toothbrush, the Brite Smile toothpaste and mouth rinse.

nah... lol they went about 6 shades though I'd say... but they were on a 'white diet' for a few days right after it... but as with all whitenings... it doesnt work on caps/crowns/etc.

My cousin had her top teeth down by britesmile and it looks amazing. I don't remember how much it cost exactly but it was pretty resonable for the results she got.

Some people experience streaks after having their teeth whitened. It blends in after a while. It's quite shocking if you're not expecting it, so I thought I'd mention it.

I keep hearing this advertised and some day I'd like to have it done. I'm a little apprehensive because I do have sensitive teeth. I think (last time I inquired) in NYC it costs about $600.00 and I was on their mailing list for a while and they would e-mail me $100.00 off coupons.

I could really use a whitening treatment because although I do NOT smoke, I do drink coffee, tea and took a lot of antibiotics as a child (someone told me that those yellow your teeth).

I've been wanting to do this for a long time too.

I went for a consultation and was told it would be $800 for the procedure and I would need to have a veneer put on my one front tooth and that would cost an additional $1000. (when I was little I broke that tooth in half and they bonded it -which will not bleach)

It's expensive here and I'm really afraid that the one tooth that would have the veneer would look strange over time as the other teeth might go back to a more yellow shade.

So I haven't done it yet. I'm a chicken!:whistling:

KathrynNicole,

You mentioned about your teeth being super sensitive. This is what I am afraid of. How long does it last??!

Thank you!!

some teeth get streaks b/c they get dehydrated and it takes just a few days for the streaks to go away...once the moisture gets back into the tooth.

a veneer is an excellent idea it would match perfectly..... if it doesn't.....tell your dentist your not happy.....as for long term color match, you just need to do top up tx every now and then.

the pain lasts about 12 hours......it is quite uncomfortable...if you are sensitive before it's probably not going to be too nice for you.

the whitening last aprox. 2-3 years depending on habits like smoking, red wine, coffee, dark foods..... it will never go back to where you started but it will dull down over time.... most people do some kind of top up tx. every 6ms.
