Ok....so I'm sure this has been done before, if so, I apologize.

I was wanting to hear from others that suffer or suffered from body acne (back, chest, upper forearms and such). The not so flattering truth is yes....some of us are unfortunate enough to have to battle this lovely truth.

Ok, so heres my list of what worked and what didn't:

1. Presciption Acne Oral Meds: yes, for the most part they worked, but some left my skin feeling very dry. NOT TO MEANTION....every time I'd wean off of them, yep the acne came back. Oh and if you're prone to yeast infections....yep expect them too. Plus I didn't want to be on an anti-biotic for life, we all know it's not good four our bodies. Plus I was always so sensititve to the sun, anytime I'd be in the sun my skin burned....not sunburned, but burned! MInocycline worked very nice. Doxycycline again, worked great...but this one is a little more drying.
2. Prescription Acne Topical Meds: again, some have worked for me. Differin Gel worked great for many years, but then stopped working. I then switched to something called Tazorac Cream....again this works great....but left me very sensitive to any other exfoliants I might want to use and such.

3. Body Washes: Prescription BP Body wash worked good as long as I used it every time I showered, but left my skin dry and a bit sensitive. Nuetrogena Body Wash (with salicylic acid) was a nicer gentler acne wash, I'd say worked so-so and more gentle than BP.

4. Body Lotions/Serums/Treatments/Masques: BP lotions worked great, but were drying, plus you MUST becareful and let it dry completely because it will bleach clothing. Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Body Serum and Body Lotions - let me just say what the heck is in this? It's very concentrate and little is needed, which is great since you are covering larger areas of your body. Yes I have an account, but it is HONESTLY the first thing (without a prescription) that has cleared my body acne (have now successfully weaned from my prescribed meds - wahoo!!!). My cousin had the same reaction and we are both I'd say 98-100% clear (only 2 weeks of use) and now just dealing with fading scars. ProActive, again this was a BP product and my skin was too sensitive to it. I also will use the DDF Sulfur Masque on my chest and back and found it to work very nicely (got that suggestion from other MUT members - thank you). Oh and MaryKay had a nice Mask as well, can't remember the name of it (it was a clay mask). Aloette had a nice enyzyme peel...but it was a pain, as you rub it off, the little beads start falling all over (you must have dry skin to do this and heck, your back and chest and arms is a big area and man that takes alot of product).
I think the big thing here is deep down pore cleaning and exfoliating. I'm thinking our bodies don't get the right exfoliation it needs and therefore dead skin cells build up and clog the pores on our back, arms, chests and such....thus causing breakouts.
Ok, so with all that being said, share your experiences good or bad in what works and what hasn't worked for you. Please understand I'm not trying to advertise on this thread. I was just so excited and wanted to share my success with all my fellow MUTers, plus since they (Arbonne) offers a 45-day Money Back Guarantee....I felt people had nothing to lose.

I'm curious to know what has worked for others as well.

I'm sure more will come to mind later and I'll end up posting more as I remember them.

Oh....yea, I've heard of that too. Glad that works for you. How the heck are you doing over there Michal?

Yay! Thanks for posting Kelly! This has only recently became a slight problem for me since moving to NY. I should try some of these tips!

Calamine stopped working for me ...

, tea tree oil works better for me, but it tends to dry out my skin. I don't have body acne though .. just a couple of zits here and there on my face .. .hehe

Thanks for posting this because nothing seems to work for me. I am going to try the calamine lotion.

Interesting! Great info!

Clear advantage supplements (from my website below) helped my boyfriend.

I used a masque on the outside followed up once no more open wounds with a sea salt scrub called Awaken and a cleansing gel replacing soap.

Clyndamicin is a prescription also, that works nicely. It's an antibacterial gel or lotion.

Tea Tree Oil can be great as well.

I included some tips on my website below...and will be adding more soon. Here they are.

SOME TIPS (skincare 101):

Do not use any scrubs on active acne, this will only irritate and sometimes make it worse. It can also cause bacteria to spread from blemish to blemish which could also cause new acne.

Be sure to wash pillow cases, makeup brushes and sponges atleast once a week (these are big breading grounds for bacteria) - this is VERY IMPORTANT! This includes powder compact puffs too.

In the shower, be sure to use body wash AFTER shampooing and conditioning hair. Conditioners and shampoos will often cause breakouts, so be sure to cleanse your body after washing your hair.

When choosing a toner, be sure it's alcohol free. Alcohol will strip your skin of moisture which in return will only cause MORE oil, thus more acne.

Hope this helps someone....

I just started using the Supplements (Clear Advantage) with my RE9 skincare routine and I also have been using the RE9 Anti-Aging Supplements as well. So far, so good!!! Maybe I'll never need my oral or topical antibiotics again...that would be great and exactly what I'm striving for.
