I went to sally's today and bought a boar paddle brush. I've never had one before, but I remember people talking about them here. what exactly are they for? What do they do for your hair? Mine is starting to grow out some, it finally covers my neck so i'm trying to do something with it now. I also bought some Ion spray from sally's and was wondering if anyone has tried it. Thanks for any input!

They're just supposed to make your hair shiny because they naturally distribute the oils in your hair over the whole strand. Other than that, I don't think there is anything special about them. But I could be wrong. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Some people use a paddle brush to straighten hair, as they blow dry.

Whereas others like using a round brush, wiht lots of tension.

I bought a boar hair paddle brush recently and I find it a bit cumbersome. My hair is only touching my shoulders so it is easier for me to still use my round brush.

The natural bristles help to distribute oil throughout hair and you will have less static in your hair (if that is a problem).

Sorry, I haven't heard of the Ion spray.

I have a paddle brush - wooden handled boar's hair brush from Goody $20

from a drug store in Canada. I'm sure you can get a Goody brush at any Walmart or Target.

I don't use a boar brush, but I do use a paddle brush as recommended to me years ago by my former stylist. She said brushing the hair stimulates growth.
